Because electability matters.
Everybody knew Paxton was a god awful candidate, none of his baggage was a secret. The Texas GOP stupidly thought it didn’t matter, and well, they might be wrong.
What’s crazy to me is Roy Moore wasn’t that long ago and we all know how that went. Just an incredible self own if Talarico ends up winning.

beware of people that come out of nowhere and win senate elections. cruz presented himself as a tea party guy. then rode that to an election victory. where did he get the money to run an expensive statewide senate race in texas? i think tel aviv ted had worked in the bush administration before his senate success. also, remember in the 2016 campaign, trump dropped some info about ted cruz's dad may have worked with lee harvey oswald in new orleans. a mysterious family after dad came over from cuba.

You remember Trump saying that but do you remember any of the investigations or any of the looking into has Trump continue to insist or suggest that Cruz was connected to the Kennedy assassination?

The GOP really does not want MAGA anymore. It is a bad look and losing the midterms would put an end to that kind of rhetoric.

Ukraine war predated Trump so that’s just dumb and Venezuela was accomplished without doing much of anything so that’s hardly neocon no matter how much you want it to be. He deserves criticism over Iran but comparing them to Iraq and Afghanistan is idiotic
