Leave and go to the other countries that you believe america should be modeled after. Stay there a few years and learn about their system. If then you still believe it's worth the fight then maybe some will listen to you here. As of now you only come across as ignorant. I for one tend to believe that there's a reason why people want to come to america. Because it ain't broke.

The US picks up most of their national defense tab
They have much more homogeneous societies
They are used to a fraction of the freedoms Americans enjoy
Oh and most of them are financial failures. It really doesn’t work and will eventually lead to the financial ruin of said countries.
I can’t fathom how anyone would trust the government to dictate their level of care, timeframe for procedures etc. anyone that works in home health can tell you the horro stories of Medicare coverage for the elderly. I want to drop dead before I am old and depending on that system.

What about other things payed by "socialized" programs like the Interstate System?
Why am I not surprised?

They spend very little on defense.
They would be better as would we if they had no government paid healthcare at all. It is Medicare that drives up the cost of healthcare in America.

As a bonus, for the higher taxes you pay, you'll get for no additional charge:
1.) Little or no control over your health care.
2.) Longer waits for surgery.
3.) Lower service quality.
4.) Over time, less services become available because the government "can't afford it."
5.) You'll end up paying for private, supplemental insurance to cover what GovCare doesn't.
6.) You'll be written off after your 80. Good luck.
I wish like hell a liberal would come and comment about all of these points.
What magic do they think exists in Government that by allowing them control over healthcare will result in a cheaper more effective service?
The government can't even get the VA right, and yet throwing hundreds of millions of more people into the system is going to magically fix it.

How much healthcare do you already pay if you use none yourself? Couple hundred bucks a month just in case?
I missed this comment last night. Sorry. It was late.
Yes. $300 per month, roughly, as I explained in my previous posts. "Just in case" I get a >$6000 bill. Then I only pay $6000. It's the basic concept of insurance.
It costs $3600 a year to pay $6000 a year to not pay more than $9600 per year.
That's insurance.

Universal health care is crappy health care. The rest of the world has proved it.

I would like to post a small update:
Earlier in the thread, I posted somewhat of an endorsement of Sanofi for their $100/m insulin that would basically be enough/more than anyone would need.
I still think this is admirable, but while looking around at other things, I just happened to come across a nearly-identical program from Novo Nordisk. You can get up to 3 vials/boxes of any combination of their insulin for $99/month as well. While it may seem that 10 > 3, these are both sufficient for essentially any patient on a monthly basis. In the link, you should be able to see both applications to the $99/m and the application for patient assistance, where the company considers giving the medication away for free if you qualify. I do not know what that is actually going to entail and who qualifies- that is not publicly available anywhere that I can see.
I also learned that they are who sells the human insulin (referred to as "pig" insulin by the OP later on in the threat which is simply incorrect) at Wal Mart under the ReliOn brand.
So now I would like to include an example of why the current system is better than you think, so long as you have some personal responsibility and let someone know you're struggling to pay rather than just not taking your medication.

1. Arkansas democrats (especially bernie bros) do not have jobs.
2. If you are the exception to the rule and you actually do have a job. There is a rea simple solution and common sense answer to your hypothetical question. DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB THAT PROVIDES HEALTH INSURANCE UNTIL YOU FIND ANOTHER ONE THAT ALSO OFFERS HEALTH INSURANCE!
3. Why should the tax payers foot the bill for you doing something stupid?

Bc other countries don't send any aid to every country, pay for a military like ours, or have their middle class funding EVERYTHING in the world like our country does.

Exactly. The US needs to cut foreign expenditures and invest in domestic infrastructure and widely available Medicare. It can easily be accomplished with spending changes and not involve tax increases.
