Poor people always want to tax rich people and it has nothing to do with anything but envy and hatred. Trying to justify it as being anything else is pretty dishonest.

Maybe their kids should make their own money rather than looking for a handout from their parents?

It would be great if some of them would even just retire. I get the frustration from the younger group about being locked out of growth. I'm a Gen Xer and capped out where I work because the SVP ranks are loaded with people in their late 60s and early 70s hanging onto their jobs like it was the only thing they accomplished in their lives.

To late, Boomer generation is over 40% extinct now. Generation X is on deck!

Boomers didn't become the majority in Congress until the early 2000's, all the shite entitlement programs from the federal government and the unsustainable trajectory for US debt were already in place. Boomers will be a minority in Congress within the next two election cycles and after that Boomers will be the least of your worries and frustrations.

98% of us won’t be taxed we don’t have enough assets. This will apply to heavy hitters.

And guess what you young, ignorant, lazy dumbass, who wants somebody else's money right now, so you can keep acting like a snowflake and buy your 10 dollar lattes... Your parents and grandparents owe you nothing. NOTHING. Who ever taught you that?
You can be as mad as you want, but when we all croak, it WAS setting up for the biggest transfer of wealth in history to YOU.
NOW, THE SOCIALISTS WILL TAKE IT AND BLOW IT BECAUSE ALL OF YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND THAT.
Ignorant, whining takers, one and all..

It’s insulting to every single taxpayer that has skin in the game, which is less than half of the warm bodies in this country.

I agree. My dad retired a couple years ago at 60.

15.4 Trillion dollars....that is the amount of money the Boomer dominated government has printed since they bailed themselves out in 2008.

Interesting how this 20 year period of cheap money and artificial stock market inflation coincided with when Boomers were in their prime earning years

The younger generation is in for a rude awakening. Eventually they will have to get off their arse and work. Then they’ll see what’s it’s like to have your money stolen from you to give to welfare parasites.

I intend to retire in a few years when I'm 55. Mentioned that to an old SVP that I used to work for and he thought I was crazy and said that he intends to be here longer than me. The guy is currently 68 years old and wants to keep going at least another 5 years.

A few years ago they offered a voluntary buyout to try and clear out some of the upper ranks, because it's becoming a significant issue that leadership isn't turning over and the knowledge isn't being passed down. The construct was if your service time + age equaled 70 you were qualified. They offered two years salary, health benefits for two years, full share payouts through their 3 years cycle (they usually expire when you quit or retire) and some other sweetheart benefits. A bunch of younger GenX middle managers that have been here a bit took the VBO and none of the older SVP leadership. Our CEO and CFO were pissed and issued another VBO just 6 months later and none of the Boomer age leadership took it, except for one and he had health issues.

In 2008, when Boomers became the majority in the Senate, the national debt was approximately $10 trillion. Today, it's roughly $40 trillion. That's a $30 trillion increase, or about 300%, in just 18 years. That's a pretty staggering.

That's exactly the point of the OP. Why are people so shocked and angry liek yourself when the numbers show that Boomers benefited from decades of economic growth while accumulating enormous debt that future generations will have to repay?

Can't that be viewed as "someone else's money"?

Are you really this fricking stupid? Boomers created wealth from nothing. How? Hard work, smart decisions and a little bit of luck. And you could do the same if you'd get off your arse and make something of yourself.
