If you could have 1 person with their expertise, knowledge, etc. be Governor for 4 years who would it be?
Must be a resident of Louisiana.

Though not 'ideal' I'd bet given an hour I can find at least 100 that would be less corrupt and do less harm than those currently running.

Jay Campbell. Former longtime CEO of Associated Grocers. No nonsense business guy with a strong CPA background. Strictly business. No skeletons.

A stern and disapproving accountant is pretty much what I'm looking for in a Republican governor even though I do ruefully enjoy the whole bread and circuses routine.

Edwin Edwards. He is buried around here somewhere so that counts!

Me.
However, I couldn't be elected because I can't speak like a politician. But, I would never be bought or corrupted and I would be honest. I would be extremely tough on crime, reform the state constitution, overhaul the state department of education and its policies, make the state business and tax friendly, completely reform the welfare system (drastically cutting and restricting what can be purchased on welfare and eliminating people who are perfectly qualified to work), make state government financially efficient to redirect wasted dollars directly to infrastructure. I'd veto the hell out of legislators slush funds allocations.
So, as you can see, I would never get elected.

Mike Johnson would be my ideal candidate.

Nobody. This state is quicksand and will only continue to sink lower and lower.
The economic outlook for LA is bleek at best. Take the home state glasses off, there is no denying it.

I sad this in another post a while back, write in Kim Mulkey. She is not afraid to say what needs to be said.
