I'm having my yearly family reunion and this is a popular dinner table discussion.

Should be interesting this year because Edwin Edwards passed away 2 weeks ago.

Also, I'm just genuinely curious.

It’s an extremely low bar, but Foster is the only marginally decent governor in my life.

And he was nothing special.

Mike Foster left office with a really high approval rating if that means anything.

Roemer would be my second pick behind Foster.

Both just average.

WCC Claiborne, it’s been downhill since.

Mike Foster would be my pick since I have been old enough to follow along. TOPS was the reason I attended LSU and for that I am forever grateful.

William Claiborne since he was appointed initially and didn't have to succumb to the will of the moronic masses.

But some honorable mentions include
Paul Octave Hebert
Henry Watkins Allen
Francis T Nicholls
Murphy Foster
Dave Treen
Mike Foster

I think it has to be Huey Long.

He was a socialist, corrupt, and extremely dirty politician.

But he made some serious gains for our state.

You have to try to put your mindset into the people back then. Long crushed it and scared the crap out of the "normal" politicians.

Mike Foster is the GOAT and that's saying something because he was nothing more than your run of the mill southern GOP governor you've seen a lot throughout the south in the last 25 years.

JBE is the worst Louisiana Governor so far in the 21st century and the third worst overall behind Huey Long and Edwin Edwards who are 1 and 2 respectively.

I thank God everyday I never gave JBE a single vote of mine while so many fools who identify as conservative and/or republican happily swallowed up the conservative Dixiecrat bullshite he was selling.

That's like asking which kind of cancer is best to have.

On this scale, JBE is "dick cancer metastasized to the brain and liver".
