Desantis. hands down.

As soon as DeSantis becomes the nominee, he will be subjected to the same treatment Trump was. Which should give many of the more establishment-type Republicans pause (especially with regards to their views on Trump). But it won’t.
I think a lot of them know that. A lot of establishment GOP types who voted for Trump recognize that Trump was treated unfairly and that he had to weather more onslaught than any other candidate in history.
But, Desantis is getting some taste of that already. He's been labeled a murderer in Florida while an actual murderer in NY won awards. He's handled those barbs well. He didn't weasel out or apologize or back down. But he also didn't turn one attack into 20 like Trump frequently does.
Again, we won't know until he's getting the full energy of all of the country's institutions. But I think he's got a better chance at coming out of those attacks making the attackers look absurd than Trump does. Trump comes out of those attacks with 60% of the country thinking both the media and Trump are absurd and having to choose which one they hate less.

Trump has to get elected to his second term, just for the
"I told you so" factor

The MSM’s Chinese water torture of Republican candidates is very effective. Given our current culture, I don’t see any way that anyone to the right of Lenin doesn’t lose support over time.
I agree that DeSantis is a more tactical fighter than Trump is. I’m just not sure that it will ultimately make a substantive difference.

DeSantis- less baggage, same message.

Neither has a shot when we have corrupt voting machines.

This. The average American couldn't name both of their state senators much less the governor of Florida.

But not bc of this; he'll win bc of his accomplishments

Desantis
I love Trump and would vote for him over and over again, but Desantis has a better shot in a presidential election. He's a more politically polished version of Trump and without mean tweets. Probably reels back in more suburban women and never-Trump RINO votes. Dem turnout at the polls would also probably be weaker vs Desantis than Trump because nothing gets Dems riled up like their hatred of Trump.

Any republican besides Trump will beat Biden or Harris in 2024.
We should worry more about 2022. Trump should too.

Trump has more of a base right now, but DeSantis obviously has a better chance at the general election. Obviously we need to see if any skeletons come out, but dude is a leader and just doesn't have the same unforced errors Trump does.

Lots of cuckolds in this thread swallowing fake media narratives

Neither one, no states will flip to red in 2024.

No they won't, Trump has about 35 million hardcore supporters who will stay home if the candidate isn't at the least a lot like Trump.

Republicans are going to get buried.

You and SDV are consistent on this. I understand your position, especially if the election was rigged and Trump did indeed win in a landslide. But, I will say, the irrational suburban woman TDS is a real thing. I think Ron Ron has a better chance to win that group.

Name recognition on Trump is also why Desantis would have an easier time winning
Are you talking about negative name recognition?
Because it doesn't matter.
Desantis needs more time in the spotlight. No one really knows him. Hasn't been tested. He would make a good VP.

If they controlled the votes and cheated in 2020, have can anyone think they wouldn't do the same in 2024?
