DeSantis. Should have been him in 2024

I agree. DeSantis would have given us all Trump's positives and none of his negatives.

Yep. Best start preparing for a Democrat president in 2028. At this point, my cope is I just hope it’s Ossoff, Shapiro, Newsom, or Beshear and not AOC or Harris.

Before tonight I said I wanted Rubio. Trump screwed him. He was the primary mouthpiece on Iran.

Desantis would get my vote if the election was today.

Vance will never get the stench of Trump off him. Democrats would hang Trump around his neck pound him into the ground.

Yeah it’s got to be Desantis. Remember, he barely won governor his first election. Then look how the next 8 years went.

He was hyper competent administratively. Just look at how he handled hurricanes and natural disasters compared to other states.

Then politically, look how the state did tonight compared to the rest of the country in an extremely hostile environment. He wasn’t on the ballot and all statewide elections still went Republican. He built an absolute monster within the state party that was able to hold off the national blue wave. Having him in charge of the national Republican Party would set up the party for years/decades.

Doubtful, dems will screw this up. Heck there are already dem congress people telling the administration to clear their schedule and lawyer up on X.

Instead of searching to solve problems they’ll just try to destroy people.

The crazy part even in states where Dems made big gains conservative amendments like banning gender surgery for minors and men in womens sports passed overwhelmingly.

The GOP and Trump brought this on themselves.

I do think DeSantis could win in 2028. But I just can’t see a world where Vance or Rubio win due to the Trump stench on them.

I like Vance but he has virtually no chance now in 2028 due to Trump.

It will be DeSantis or Rubio

The issue is SOCIALISM. Embraced by the idealistic youth and massive numbers of poor immigrants. Just what the hell is some “preferred candidate” going to run on?

The entitlement-minded demographic has spoken re “social justice” and Capitalism (muh selfishness) has been repudiated. Aided by the naive TDS fools doing what the Europeans did.

I can’t wait to hear Royce White on the ‘28 Debate Stage. If he dodges jail or a bullet and makes it there.

DeSantis was a good Governor. But, I don't think he can win a National election. I hope I'm wrong

DeSantis is a great Administrator, but we are in ‘revolution’ territory now. The choice is binary and a zero sum game. One sidelines is the others gain.

As strange as it may sound, Elon Musk, with his UBI beliefs, may be the future in shaping a candidate. The kids like him but for his Trump attachment. And Trump will be fading away. Like me.

Agree.

I don't see how either can so disassociate with Trump and emerge on the other side as their own man. Nor do I know what could happen in the interim to change that. Their political careers basically died tonight.

No way to win in 2028. The democrats will taunt Trump for the remainder of his term and the same folks will turn out for the democrats. Sorry, but that's how it is.
On the plus side, more than half of the country will be happy.

Let's say they win... They will only get 2 years to govern IF they flip the house/senate. Look around - that ain't happening.
