I don't know what happened to the Get Out Of My House movement, but you need something like that. My pipe dream is that enough people realize that "too many people in other states don't align with their beliefs." Get a Trump like person to eliminate most of the Fed Gov. Instead of paying 20+% to the IRS and 6% to Louisiana, I should be paying 3% to the IRS and 10% to LA.

I was a subscriber to GOOMH movement about 7-8 years ago, maybe longer.

I think decentralizing the federal govt and moving DC into Virginia or Maryland would be a start.

Tax revolt

Will never work, the Feds neutered that strategy decades ago via withholding. It destroyed the ability of the common man to have a direct effect on the government by denying it funding.

It’s too late for any of that.

Democracy didn’t work very well for the Greeks. They found that they would inevitably decay into oligarchies.

What you ended up with were a corrupt clique running the city for their own benefit. Eventually someone would kick them out of power, but that simply restarted the cycle. And once again you’d end up with an oligarchy several generations later.

My only regret is that I have only one upvote to give to you.

The Republic died when the States lost their say in this Federal Conglomerate.

It’s sad to see our most powerful law enforcement agencies weaponized like they are. Lot of it started under O Bama . He made sure promotions within were very liberal. He also weaponized the IRS. Once you have corrupt people running these agencies, the good honest people from within don’t dare speak up for obvious reasons.
It’s really pathetic that politics are all they care about. They aren’t going to stop breaking the law until they get something on Trump and they’ll make it up if they have too.

Somehow we need to go back to state based system.

You are right but governors and state legislatures are too big of pussies to push back. I think they are afraid of losing federal funds. Quite the conundrum they've created.

Armed revolt. It’s way past actually fixing. The corruption is way to deep.

The corruption and rot is not primarily a DC problem; it’s your state and local government. No one pays attention to local politics. We get venal local officials, and that is the pool from which national politicians come. Start electing honest local officials and that will fix DC.
