Say he won the primary in 2016.... what do you guys think Hillary/DNC/Obama would’ve done to him and his campaign?

Would they have some kind of fbi targeting scheme like they did with Trump or claim Cruz was foreign born and couldn’t be prez?

Cruz wouldn’t have beat Hillary. Too many people like myself know Cruz is just another BS politician, don’t let him supporting Trump fool you, he is bogus as frick!

Cruz can’t work like Trump works but I don’t think many people can!

1) Well, they were spying on him, too. They would've lied about something.

2) They would've painted Cruz as an Alt-Right candidate whose views were too extreme to allow him to be President. The only reason we didn't hear this more in the GOP primary season is because Trump completely took over and dominated nearly every news cycle.

I heard his wife had some mental problems in the past. That would’ve gotten wall to wall coverage I’m sure - helpfully leaked by an anonymous source.

I highly and sincerely doubt that Ted Cruz would've done as well as Donald Trump did in Michigan, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Ohio, reaching out to the white working class while winning over enough of the burbs.

I just don't see the rust belt responding well to a guy who's base is made up of primarily right religious and constitutional conservatives.

Cruz is not populist enough for them imo.

I was all in on Ted Cruz but when Trump beat him I voted Trump. Now I am all in on Trump. Ted is brilliant but no way would he fight the fight Trump is waging. It’s 24/7 counter punching. Ted would have folded.

Someone would probably have dug this up again.
"Ted Dudly Do'Right Cruz" ... A man without a Country..!Cruz should just go back to the Senate "... O Wait.! he can't.!.He Committed an act of fraud seeking political office in the USA while concealing the fact that he was a citizen of a foreign country.

Ted Cruz remained a legal citizen of "Canada".. from birth in Canada, until he renounced his Canadian citizenship in May of 2014 .

On the basis of all available evidence today, Ted Cruz is in fact holding a seat in the U.S. Senate illegally, with no documented proof of legal U.S. citizenship whatsoever, and proof of Canadian citizenship between the years of birth in 1970 and May 2014.

There was no other republican candidate who would have beaten Hillary. As crazy as the whole Trump thing seemed at the time, he is a savior of the republicans and maybe the country. And he did this while being spied upon by the CIA and FBI in the final months of the campaign.

Nah! Just an interested observer. I enjoy the discussions here even if they do get a bit wierd some times. I have a lot of respect for truth and law and not much tolerance for bullcrap. if that makes me opinionated, then so be it.

Close to my situation as well.

I do not adhere to any of this "hate on Cruz" rhetoric going on in here - We actually need someone with Cruz' mentality and character as POTUS - but I have grudgingly recognized that nobody but Trump could have beaten the DEMs in '16.

IF we ever had a truly loyal opposition party - I would not want a Trump persona - I would prefer a Cruz persona.

BUT - until that time arrives, we need the Trump persona of - never back down - humiliate them as often as possible - make fun of them - rub your successes in their faces and make fun of their idiocracy.

I'm afraid that Cruz would treat the "other side" with too much respect. = they deserve ZERO respect - and that is what Trump is giving them.

MAGA!!

Cruz represents the kind of politician we need to govern a "moral and religious people' - as John Adams said about the republic established by the constitution - and that it was ill suited for any other type of population

We now have a 'different' population - far removed from the type of morality the constitution was formed to govern.

We need someone like Trump to walk us back to normalcy - and it isn't pretty - but it is like cancer surgery - or any amputation of gangrenous limb - not pretty at all - but absolutely necessary for the survival of the body.

GO TRUMP - bring us back to a governmetnnt that can be better run by someone line CRUZ!!!!

In the meantime - MAGA - MAGA - MAGA!!!!!

They would have fabricated something. It would be something along the lines of his relationship with his wife, taxes, etc.
