You understand that a shutdown is like being locked out of the house with all the lights on and the water running. You'll still pay for the power bill and water bill and you can't turn anything off.

BTW, Trumps now calling for the Dems to "open our Gov" so its nice to see you baws take a view he doesn't hold.

Cut spending in Congress or by EO. A shutdown doesn't trim shite

I don't think a lot of people even are aware its shutdown. The military miss their first check on the 15th. The House is out and will not be back until the 13th.

It's costing us 15 Billion a day...fricking stupid the Dims are doing this to country...in the name of far left TDS.

Congress hasn't passed a budget in decades, yet here we are allowing both sides to point the finger at the other as if they aren't all collectively responsible for this current version of the shitshow we now see. They're all fricking useless, yet they will keep getting paid. They can keep the shitshow shut down for a year, sending thousands of people to the poor house, and they will never miss a fricking check.

They should all pack their shite and get the hell out of DC.

+1000

No budgets in years, pork and more pork, massive deficits. Broken system operated by people with a junior high intelligence and maturity level. Clowns, all of them.

The longer this goes, I’d start adding my demands if I’m Republicans for pulling this stunt.

frickem all and demand no checks to congressional members if they can’t come to an agreement. The American taxpayer voted for all of this. They should not get paid if they can’t deliver what the population voted for!

The sad but true answer is that most republicans don’t actually want to be in power. They are perfectly happy to be the minority party. There’s tons of money to be made from lobbyists and donors. They aren’t vilified too terribly by the leftist media. They get invited to all the elite parties and junkets and conferences. And they have no responsibility to actually do what they campaigned on.

The game is pretty cush if you have no morals, dignity, or empathy. Look at this frick John Cornyn as a perfect example.

The Rinos

I've started assuming that anyone who uses the acronym RINO has the IQ of a Democrat and so far I've been right everytime.

Where did you get those numbers? The poll I saw said that 65% of Americans blame the Dems for the shutdown…

This is a perfect explanation of the standard GOP politician. It's why Trump did so well and remains so popular. People were yearning for someone to fight against the left.

I mean...I'm deployed and my family back home would really like to eat and pay our bills....but a few weeks of inconvenience is worth it if they don't back down and reverse everything that's DJT has done so far....

But... selfishly...I want my pocket change for nicotine and caffeine. My Joe's won't like me if I have to go cold turkey in a few weeks.

People seem to not understand, the shutdown is like being locked out of your house while all the lights are on, the waters running and you can't get in to turn anything off. You'll still pay the bill in the end.

There are two choices for the resolution of this. Some of the comments are just dumb...start firing, keep it closed...etc.

One is a clean CR that the GOP are trying to pass. It has no cuts and keeps the gov open for 6 more weeks. The other is the Dems demands, which include billions of new spending and removal of the OBM ability to cut anything going forward.

Those are the choices.

Trump is asking the Dems to open the Gov and then talk about keeping the ACA tax cuts passed as part of COVID 19 package of aid. In other words this is about TDS nothing more. The base of the left are why we are where we are. They don't care about the harm this does...which is funny because the base of the right seem to hold similar views.
