I just want proof that 10% or less of the traffic is computers talking to computers just to be active . If computers are just talking to computers, that shite needs to be throttled down and regulated.

More work and more money for me.

They are good as long as they provide for their own power and utilize a closed loop water cooling system that minimizes fresh water use.

What happens to all those that learned coding?

Golden age indeed.....
In 1973 Secretariat lined up for the third race of the triple crown, the Belmont Stakes, the longest and therefore toughest for such a large horse. The thought of competitors was to take out a very fast pace, Secretariat usually fell to the back of the pack and he would have to keep pace and wear himself out.
On that day he came right to the front, must have known what they were thinking, by the halfway point they were well well below the record time of the track and Secretariat would fade, instead he took the lead. He won the race by 31 lengths a track record and set the world record for 2.25 miles that still stands today.
They asked the owner about the race she said halfway home I was yelling, just LET HIM RUN RONNIE (the jockey).
Just let them build Donnie, just let them build.
Thats all I got.

Build em, tax em and monitor em. This is good for US.
... only if an executive order goes in place to prevent raising energy prices for local citizens.
If you're in the OKC or Tulsa metro areas and a new data center goes up, you spread out the increase across over 1M people in both areas and increase cost per household by around $150 annually. But if you look at where I live where the entire County population is about 35,000, you give us increases of thousands of dollars per year.
Something has to be put in as a safeguard for rural areas.
Data centers are the future and at this point whoever wins the AI race will control and or destroy the world. But I'd rather it be our idiots in Washington doing it that the CCP turning basically the entire US into an organ harvesting camp. That's where we're at.

That is why China is attempting to use rabid anti-American media to impede our AI, or shut it down all together.
Got it?

Water shortages is a real concern for rural areas of Texas. Which is where the data centers are being built.
While we know data centers are going to be built, Texans are seeing how the Governor just rolls out the red carpet for big tech when we shouldn’t have to have our utility bills compromised.
The state is offering tax breaks, sweetheart land deals and usage priorities for the big tech companies.
Because Texas has an independent electrical grid, not shared with the rest of the country…. Texas already suffers plenty during winter storms or hurricanes.

I'm fine with it, but I would prefer they pull electricity from the grid and not throw temporary generators at the fenceline. Less noise, pollution, etc. that way.
That's not how these facilities work. Those are critical backup generators. These facilities aren't allowed to have downtime.

I thought they recycle their water and use it over and over. It's only for cooling, there are no chemicals or industrial waste involved.
Refineries and Chemical Plants have waste water treatment units, surely data centers can recycle water used for cooling.

the taxpayers are on the hook. Council members who approve of these data centers also sign NDA's.
the whole idea is for local politicians to get them approved without full disclosure of details., especially cost to taxpayers and any potential damage

Data Centers, like, cloud computing and data storage or do you mean AI data centers? Both are fine as long as the juice and water needed to run it are not impacting public supply.

I thought they recycle their water
Meanwhile, China's AI Centers are powered by 1950's unclean coal, and burn off water (steam) by the metric tons. But with relatively insignificant expense, China can influence US media to maximize negative coverage of US AI efforts.

Ogallala Aquifer depletion. The Aquifer is already under severe strain from long term dry conditions.
The fear is the scale of the Project Matador data center would deplete the water tables.
