I’m not against deportation in general even though I've never said anything in support of it and in fact have only supported politicians who oppose it and who intentionally flooded the country with illegal immigrants. Why are we deporting students and others that have a valid basis for being here?

Doesn't even matter. She's not being punished. She's being denied a privilege she has no entitlement to.

So how did Democratic admins so deftly avoid this?

Because they see it as (D)different.

This isn't about deportation, it's about trying to find a political win vs Trump.

Show me a single No Kings riot that occurred under Biden.

You are wrong and you know it you are letting your feeling think for you.

She didn’t what was asked of her by applying for asylum, yes. Once this was denied she did not leave, hence here illegally.

We need to fix our house before we let guests come over and stay. This will produce “bad” stories like this, but it needs to be done.

You have only heard one side of the story and you just buy it all. Her family says she never missed a court appearance . We talked to her family and they say she is all good to go, no need to look anywhere else. She needs to get legal or she needs to be shown the door. I can't just go live in some other country just because I might be a decent dude. When they come get me, no one is going to cry for me like you do........Ask yourself why you care so much about illegals? Are you one?

That's an actual human.

That had 47 years to get her shite legal.

47 years.

Another case of "that day will never come".

Here's the entire post you're attempting to respond to. You missed a few pieces. Thanks for the opportunity to repost and clarify..

"You're right. From a legal/procedural standpoint, it's irrelevant.

Here's the "next question".

Does our Government have to engage in an act of obvious cruelty toward this woman, or do we have the capacity to be a little more discriminating in this?

She's done what was asked of her".

Ok. Now we don't agree on the emboldened part, fine. You said "next question". I asked the next question. Do you have an answer?

So killing unborn fetus = bad
Killing productive resident of 40 years = GOOD!!!

There's no christians left in the GOP.

Whoa, where is this coming from?

Libs say it is Persian Paradise over there. Just like those peaceful Palestinians. If they are good enough to protest for over here for they should be great to live with. Why don't the bleeding hearts go over there and help anyone deported settle in.

You just can't be logical with some people.

"What laws did she break"?

If you can't figure that out you are just dumb.

[quote]Doesn't even matter. She's not being punished. /quote] detention is a punishment.

I understand arguing that because the government can legally detain and deport her, it should. To claim this isn’t a punishment is dishonest.

How do you know this is obviously an act of cruelty? All you know is what her husband (is it even really her husband if she has no green card) said in a news article

Cruelty is literally the only reason to do this. When we talk about getting illegal immigration under control, we are not talking about people that have done everything the right way, contribute to society, and have been allowed to stay for 50 years. Thats why even conservatives are starting to turn on these raids, and the ones who do still support are struggling to justify it, as evidenced by posts on this board.

This is what happens when you allow years of unfettered illegal immigration and the pendulum swings back the other way.
You’ll never admit it but you and people like you are much more to blame for this womans recent predicament than are Trump or his supporters.

There’s much I don’t say on this board. I’m pretty limited with how much I can post and what kind of posts I can make on this board. I’m happy to post more of my opinions on this board if the admins won’t ban me again for giving an honest opinion on something. Posting on this board over the last few years has been like walking on egg shells so I don’t offend the wrong person.

This lady was ordered deported in the early 1980s. The only tragedy here is that her deportation order was allowed to be extended by 40+ years. We have bipartisan immigration laws. These laws need to be enforced. Period.
