Dave Smith makes a pretty good case that we have been the bad guys since the first night of bombings.

We targeted the leaders of a terrorist regime that has orchestrated attacks across the world for decades, and just weeks before, murdered tens of thousands of unarmed protestors.

If you are saying we are the "bad guys" in this, it is because you have an agenda.

They've been angling to hit Iran for decades.

Iran has been causing us to spend money on weapons for decades. Dealing with EFPs, the USS Cole, embassy bombings, they are the reason JSOC and TF160th exist (Desert One,) and on and on. You think the GBU-57 was designed and built for the Chinese or Russians? THAAD, etc., are not because of North Korea.

Everyone seems to conveniently forget Tehran, at a minimum was nearly out of water before any of this started. I don't like the idea of blowing up power that supplies civilians, but this is a consequence of a war the Ayatollah started in 79. The precise reason we shipped an atomic power plant via C-17s a few months ago was to make our overseas infrastructure independent of local grids in case someone in Qatar tried to take out the power to our airbase, etc.

Exactly. Make them suffer until they get tired of suffering. Kill them until they get tired of dying. It’s how the US beat the British. It’s how the north beat the south. It’s how the USA beat Germany and Japan. It’s how you win wars. Unfortunately, leftists and never Trumpers only know how to lose wars. Thats why normal men see them as cucks. Just check out this thread. The entire theme is “what if we lose?” Reminds me of pussy OU fans who wanted to stay in the B12to get easier wins.

The Iranian government and military are a bunch of radical fanatics they will fight until the last man is standing. Also, the part about Iranian citizens ‘taking over’ isn’t going to happen. Are we willing to kill every single IRGC member? Because that’s what it will take.

Just recently, it was argued on here if this was even a “war.” Now we are justifying total war.

What’s the end goal? Have we defined what victory looks like? Goal posts keep moving from disarm, to enabling the populace to take over, to whatever the current goal is.

Once we destroy civilian infrastructure, Failed State and terrorist breeding ground becomes inevitable.

I’m personally ok with the full spectrum of war, but only when it comes with line of sight to goals and consequences.

I don't agree with targeting any of the infrastructure. I'm in the camp of finding a group in Iran who are vehemently opposed to the Iranian government, and propping them up to overthrow that government. Israel and us can still target key members of their government and military, but keep most of the overall attack in the hands of the group we propped up.

I agree with your sentiment here - and I am absolutely convinced that we are exploring that option with as much vigor as we can - in the meantime, I will support the scale of rising intensity until the regime is gone.

Will have to make the best we can of what's left. Even if it means creating some sort of protectorate to prevent the radical islamists from regaining power thru violence.

The same types of governments exists in China, across Africa, North Korea and other places.

And which ones of those are openly supportive of terrorism directed at us and our interests.

AND - wrt to China and NK - we would be in another gut-wrenching decision in how to react if any of them WERE to begin direct terrorism against us.

I think it would be a good idea to demonstrate to any other would-be proponents of open terrorism against us might turn out for them. We need to dissuade them from taking that avenue.

Trump has always done this: use his position of power to verbally bully other people into getting what he wants without actually doing anything. When push comes to shove, he won’t do shite.

Ask Maduro or Khamenei 'bout this. Are you blind? Or just nuts?

Trump is the least "do nothing" President we've ever had. When he doesn't do something he threatens to do, its because he doesn't have to, but he is follows through, and that's wht drives people like you nuts. He closed the border. He has been deporting illegal aliens. He's cleaning up our bad a ors in our hemisphere. Hes balancing our trade deficits. He's exposing fraud. It's amazing actually.

The friggin civilians are helping us target buildings now, anything to get this regime out of the country they would welcome.

You know they currently have blackouts dont you?????

I know you may think a few days without your gamebox and your cell phone is devastating. These people are a wee bit more concerned about their daughter being raped and beaten to death because she had her hijab on crooked.

“ If we take out food and water to 90 million civilians, and what point are we committing war crimes, and are we the “good guys” anymore?”(quote Delta).

Legit question. Islamists will sacrifice their women and children for the ‘Cause’. So will the Democrat Party. What goes around might come around to us. I feel very uncomfortable about the current strategy as I believed we had assumed total air superiority, with the ability to support arming their people and lending them air support. Such is obviously not the case.

Taking out basic infrastructure that will take years to rebuild, for the good folks that we champion doesn’t feel right for me. But I’m a hayseed with no real knowledge.

You are worried about fricking war crimes after their regime slaughtered and murdered over 30,000 people?

International law says you can't retaliate if it directly impacts civilians so blowing up their water and food supply would constitute as a war crime. Just starting facts here not opinion.
