Gaetz wasn't all empty bluster. He wanted to get rid of McCarthy and he did it. Gowdy hates him for showing the world what an empty suit Gowdy actually is.

Yep, would have been a much more effective choice to have chosen someone who has put on awesome hearings for TV making a fool of someone…and can also compose really strong letters threatening to do stuff that never gets carried through with.
Who needs more than that?
Would’ve probably passed easily as Dems would’ve approved too after posturing a little bit (for a good show of course).
