I know the term BAW has its own meaning here on TigerDroppings. But I grew up in the sticks and hills of WV. My paternal grandparents, great grandma and every great uncle and aunt called all nephews and male grandkids BAW and all the female grandkids, nieces SIS or girl in the most hillbilly southern country drawl. It's just how it was back then probably because there were so many kids they couldn't remember our names. But it stuck and now most of those grown up kids still do that, me being one of them. When my nephews were young they laughed and asked why I called them baw instead of their names. It made me laugh because that was natural for me and I had never even thought about it until then. For our family it's just a term of endearment.

But I think a grown arse man BAW is someone you would want to have your back when shite goes down. I've been on this site for probably 10 years or more but only registered and started posting a few years ago. But reading all those posts over the years told me there's some good ol' BAWS on here. I went to Marshall University and grew up less than 3 miles from where the plane crashed in 1970. But since finding this site I've come to love La culture, food and became and LSU fan. Y'all are good people.
Instead of prune juice, sub apricot juice. It'll taste better and have you shitting through a screened door. In the heat of the summer I add electrolytes to clear liquor drinks. It's helps me rehydrate while I dehydrate while hydrating.

Agreed, I live just a few blocks from a Graeter's. I rarely eat ice cream but when I do there's none better than theirs. They use the French Pot method and their ice cream is dense and rich. I think the OP is just RFKJr and Vance having some good fun.
I still have my Yamaha AW1600. I've since moved on to a Mac Mini Pro using Logic, but I loved that Yamaha. Was great for running pedals / amps direct or micing amps.

Hell, I opened this thread and thought that pic of Rosie was Mike DeWine. She's hideous.

I traded for an old Fender HWY 1 from a guy that had put the Lace Sensor blue silver red SSS in it. They're ok and not as chimney as I like but Ive done some recording with that guitar and decided to leave them in. Reply and let us know how you like yours.

I've heard good things about this product, Wet and Forget, on a local home improvement show.

They basically turned it into another Denny's, Bob Evans, IHOP, etc. Removed all the Mom and Pop southern charm and made it just another sterile food slinger. Good luck, you'll need it.

I’ve heard good things about kings stones

I have a King 220/800 double sided stone I use for the kitchen. It's a really good stone and I especially like to red 220 side. It's creates a slurry when sharpening but works well. I agree with the diamond plates. I use one on each stone after I use it. I have another I use for repairing chips in the blade. But you're correct on that set up is all you really need.

I watch outdoor55 on YouTube and he’s the best I’ve found.

Yep, I follow his channel as well as others. I like how he has the microscopic camera showing the edge and all the imperfections and burrs that you may not see with the naked eye. Great channel.

The process is very zen, quite relaxing.

Interesting you mentioned this. During the covid lockdown I started watching YouTube videos of free hand sharpening.

One of my favorite channels was a guy called the silent sharpener. No music, no talk, just the splashing of the water on the stone and sharpening. That got me interested so I learned sharpening on stones first but have since moved onto other ways.

I still sharpen on stones and it's especially zen and therapeutic after a stressful day at work. I have 3 Shapton stones that I like, a few diamond plates, two Work Sharp KO belt grinders with different set ups, some Norton stones and Arkansas stones. I finish with homemade leather strops but I just purchased a diamond embedded leather strop with some diamond emulsion spray. It does a nice job of removing any remaining burr and wire and gives me a sharper edge than the leather compound strops.

I hit estate sales and flea markets almost weekly as well and search for old carbon steel knives with heavy patina and can pick them up for 50 cents to a few bucks.

Glad to see some interest in the OT on sharpening and knives. Happy sharpening Baws!

re: Mold near HVAC vents.

No, But we would've had this happen regardless due to fan running all the time. This happened a few months after we had central air installed. When AC cycled off the fan was blowing the condensation through the ducts. Didn't know this about the fan and lesson learned. Just thought it may be helpful for OP if his was set to run constantly.

Is the fan continuously running? If so you may want to set it to auto so it only kicks on when AC runs. I had similar experience. Went on vacation for 2 weeks and came back to mold around all registers. Had to have A/C disassembled, cleaned and sanitized. Had a UV bulb installed that will kill any one cell organisms that passes through. Also had to have all ducts cleaned. Was an expensive lesson for sure.
