We live in an overly cautious world, and a large part of the blame is women and weak men

Last week in Baton Rouge, they shut down the schools and 1-110 because of suspected freeze. The weather didn’t get below 32 and there was no ice.
This is simply one illustration, but the entire fear scam over covid is another.
As more and more leadership positions are filled by emotional women and weak men, it’s only going to get worse.
In the good old days of men principals and teachers, we didn’t have all this BS.

Wearing a harness and being tied off is for pussies.

It’s not the women, it’s the lawyers and insurance companies.

I wouldn't always blame women.
There are some tough broads out there.

I blame the nanny state mentality.
Many politicians believe they have to take action to be doing their job.
When in reality, I don't fricking need them 99% of the time, and life would be substantially better if they did nothing (or better yet, repealed some regulations).

Honestly, I think this is a great topic, because we absolutely like in an overly cautious world. The question is; why?

I've always felt as though being overly cautious was a selfish and lazy way to project virtue without risking anything. OSHA can mandate that a factory filter rain water that falls on its grounds, and pat themselves on the back for their environmental consciousness without ever having to be there to deal with the fall out of such a policy, or even try to understand if said policy is needed.

Politicians do this with hurricane preparedness, and now COVID. By fear, you create or enflame a problem, then you swoop in to "solve" that problem with ambiguous solutions that may or may not fix anything.

It’s very possible to “out safety” yourself to the point you can accomplish nothing.

You left out trial lawyers. We live in a society where everyone is looking to sue for the smallest of things which is all encouraged by sleazeball lawyers.

It's both. When I was a kid everyone in my neighborhood was raised free range. No adult supervision outdoors beyond the age of 5. Today moms over protect young children. It's not because they're afraid of being sued. It's because they don't want friends and neighbors to call them 'a bad mother.'

As more and more emotional women become mayors, governors, judges, police chiefs, etc, you’ll see more and more decisions based on emotions

There isn't much to be said to you guys about how/why this happens because you deny to the ends of the Earth even though they actually want to kill you, but we all know who does this to civilizations. There is a ridiculous amount of proof it is that group of people but you have been so subverted and indoctrinated you can't admit it even though an astronomical amount of easily available material proves it.

I agree - the cult of safety-ism is very real. It's not entirely new, though. I'm sure you remember the 70s and 80s where it seemed kidnapping and stranger danger were made to seem like they were 1000X worse than they ever were.

I still see a lot of soccer moms terrified of kidnapping, It's not particularly popular when I point out that they seem to have no qualms with the Indian/Chinese mom (who is a new driver) driving carpool for their kids, despite the fact that it's probably literally 5000X more dangerous than some rando kidnapping little Jaxsyn.

Nobody uses their own brain. I'm sure many of you actually pay attention to expiration dates on foods and medicines instead of just smelling it to see it's OK. I see grown man throw shite away all the time.

I was a dispatcher in BR during the ice storm awhile back. That was pure insanity. My fleet had 3 wrecks in the same location and a bunch of them were stuck on the other side of the river overnight. On my way to work (which I should not have gone), I saw a ton of wrecked cars and watched at least 3 go off the road. I puttered in at 20mph.

The city isn't prepared and probably could never be for once in a decade type storms. Nothing wrong with shutting it down and being cautious..

I've said it before and I know I get beat up for it but one of the biggest mistakes the US has made is giving women the right to vote. Look at the collateral damage around every women in power.

While I don't disagree totally with the overall theme, for this example, I think the blame should go towards our overly litigious society. Too many freakin lawyers and lawsuits. These schools and school leadership are scared to death of getting sued if anything goes awry. And this goes for a lot of things in our society.

The Greeks actually had a play about women getting power and how bad it is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assemblywomen

The reason our founders made the voting of the Republic the way it was is for a couple reasons. First, most men shouldn't vote, they just aren't smart enough to vote. Second, no women should vote. They don't have the longevity of thought for voting and they are dependent in nature, like when pregnant. They are biologically driven in short term thought, they have shelf life, as their eggs do. These can obviously be gone into more detail but this is the gist.
