This causes me to believe that the issue is largely genetic, which means that it would be very difficult to eradicate unless there was a specific gene (rather than a combination). And then you get into epi-genetics, and well, i am already way out over my skis.

There is no cure, and you can never give back what they take from a child. Sucks that they don't get the DP here, but from what I read in my Bible, God takes care of it for us. You don't hurt children, and you don't put stumbling blocks between the Lord and children. I don't think the Lord plays when it comes to kids.

A prison sentence is worse for pedos than other prisoners. They get beaten up regularly. Some are murdered.

I said no.
I think they should be castrated with hedge clippers and sent to forced labor factories where they work 16 hours a day until they die. These hypothetical factories should be similar to prisons, where they also live on site and never get to leave.

If there's 5 or more years of age difference and the younger of the two is below the age of 14 and physical force was used? Absolutely.
I make these caveats because I worked in bars and nightclubs in college so I've seen gals who looked 19-20 going into bars with fake IDs get picked up by guys (who may or may not have found out later the gal was 14-16).
I also worked with a dude whose girlfriend moved in with him just before she graduated high school (he was only like 3 or 4 years older than she was). Her parents knew about it and were okay with it as they had just gotten engaged... right until the point where they broke up and the parents charged him with statutory rape (he had to register as a sex offender, may still be on the list, this was 25-ish years ago).
My point on this is that if the girl has gone to such extreme lengths to fraudulently portray herself as being within the age of consent and the consent is mutual, the guy should not be put to death.

Maybe their fear of death will override their "uncontrollable" urge to have sex with a child. If not, they will be dead so less pedos to perpetuate such a horrible and destructive crime on children.

Pedos should be turned over to the family of the victims for them to kill as they wish. If they decline, then we raffle off the chance for anyone else to kill the pedo as they wish. We use that money to catch and kill more pedos.
The end result should always be a slow, painful death. What the Russians did to the terrorists should just be the introduction for pedos.
Then, we need to go after the DAs that let pedos off with light sentences because their conviction record is more important than protecting children. Next, the judges that agree to these light sentences.
