BS…ship all your illegal voters out and off every endowment they are stealing from. Then eliminate stupid regulations pushing green energy crap.

Everybody watch carefully, Hyundai will never push 50,000 cars a year through the plant outside Savannah. It will close.

That's political suicide and can't be touched. It will have to come crashing down before it can be fixed.

There’s absolutely zero chance a president touches social security/Medicaid/medicare before any economic collapse

breaking 40 trillion, but not there yet

Whatever, the current level of debt is unsustainable, and it's horrific.

Whatever happened to talk of a "balanced budget amendment"? That has flown out the window, never to have been spotted again.

I was listening to an economist on cnbc discussing the issue and he explained that If we just left taxes and Gov spending static for at least 10 years, business would thrive and our gdp growth would increase so that we could grow our way out of a lot of this.
It makes sense on its face but we know that with our system, there’s no way we could lock things down.

Have you seen how much Trump has spent?

At the current pace, Trump's two terms will have accounted for 35% of the national debt. His plan to pay down the deficit with growth never made sense.

we cannot "grow" our way out of this mess. Now we can put a little lipstick on the pig by growing our economy and thereby reducing our debt to gdp ratio, which will provide some breathing room.

Americans are simply going to have to come to grips with the fact that our government entitlements, even though they were well-intentioned at the time, need to be scrapped and re-built for a modern world.

All this, and no mention of the most pernicious and costly entitlements of them all: the unfunded Tax Cut For The Rich, 2017 Style, and the unfunded Tax Cut For The Rich Part Deux-- The Big, Beautiful Bill!

Imagine thinking we have the deficit we do because we’re under taxed. LOL. And whatever your opinion on Trump, the 2017 tax cuts were mostly targeted at the lower income levels. In fact, they pinched a lot of richer folks with the cap on the SALT deduction. Seek help for your TDS. FDR and LBJ set this train wreck in motion.

This is true. A Republican and a Democrat arguing over the debt is like two drunks arguing over a bar tab on the Titanic

Paying it off is a pipe dream.

Can we just start with not letting it grow? I'm cool with not paying off the credit card, but can we at least cut it up?

This is where I am. I’d vote for anyone that would freeze federal expenditures and hiring for their four year term. That’s all you’d have to do. Just freeze it, not cut it.
