That's the way talk radio and The Right advertised it, but the reality of its implementation was much different-- middle class taxpayers got little or no relief, and The Rich got the lions share of the rewards-- all in the name of blowing up the deficit. And, as expected the SALT deduction cap in states with income taxes again impacted middle class taxpayers disproportionately. Republicans seriously paid the price in the 2018 midterms, thanks to Trump's Tax Cuts For The Rich, to the tune of a 43-seat shellacking in the House.

Because of activists in the legislature and judiciary, we can't kick out freeloading illegals, we can't put healthy people on disability to work, we can't cut government, we can't aggressively find and prosecute fraud, we can't enact work for welfare, we can't ask people to pay back all student loans they signed up for, we can't stop mobs of people from destroying cities, we cant ask Europe to fund their own defense, we cant ask Europe to back Ukraine, hell we can't even ask for compromised US congressman who are undoubtedly handing over information to Chinese spys to be held accountable.
And the same people griping about the cost of things with the declining value of the dollar wants all of that. And more.

And who's fault is that? Which governments?
You people wail and scream about "subsidies"... and then want the federal government to bear the cost of localities and states with high taxation. Which is it?
Give me one good reason someone from Tennessee should help subsidize the taxes of someone in California. Just one.

Yea, but if we cannot touch that... social security and Medicare is a lost cause.
Plus... before any SS retirement funds are even touched.. the disability has to go first. Starting with the ones that have paid little or nothing.
Think of the entire SS cost to operate. How many retirees are on it. Then come to the realization that 10 percent of that cost is disability. Much of it right to the kind of people down at the park shooting basketball on weekday afternoons.

There are only 4 pieces to the US budget:
1. Social Security
2. Medicare/Medicaid
3. Defense
4. The interest on the debt.
That's it. Everything else is loose change in the sofa cushions.
The more #4 grows the less we can do about the other 3 but that doesn't really matter anyway because no one will ever win an election proposing cuts to 1, 2 or 3.
The bottom line is the American voter would never stand for what would be necessary to "fix" things. It's not going to happen.
Nothing will change until something catastrophically breaks. 1, 2, 3, and 4 will continue to grow and grow. Eventually #4 will swallow the other 3 but until that happens, the party goes on.
Even the people bitching in this thread wouldn't stand for it.
