Just enough time to get the Wuhan Construction crew here.

I was told they could build a hospital in 10 days

I know the source you referring to, and the serious/mild tally have always been questionable.

I suspect it has something to do with HIPPA. They aren’t publically reporting patient status daily.

That aside, buying the number is a serious lack of critical thinking on your part. Is your assertion it’s causing people to crash and burn fast, spending no more than a day or two in critical care?

Because the number you are asserting as serious is almost the number that died today alone.

Hell, I bet there are more people in LA alone which falls under serious condition.

Out of 330 million. Panic and mayhem. We're going to destroy an economy over 24000 people.

Is a mechanical ventilator any different from an air compressor ,attached to a regulator and airway?

Take off all of the fancy electronic controls and monitoring systems and the links back to the nursing station and you are getting closer. Consider CPAP and BI-PAP machines that many people with Sleep Apnea or COPD use and you are getting closer yet.

This Canadian Doctor came up with a very helpful MacGyver type option.

Now who is fear mongering.

The economy isn’t going to be destroyed. Hell, in most places it’s still business as usual essentially.

So unless your assertion that the back of the economy is on the service industry, you are wrong. The Saudi price war is doing more economic damage than Corona right now.

Also, you assertion is of questionable logical foundation. So you think we should have waited until it’s everywhere in force with a high death toll and then restrict? See how well that worked for Italy, who 2 weeks into a lockdown harsher than anything in the US still has new case rate and death rate increasing.

Be fair. It hasn’t overwhelmed our medical system.

Average wait time at Tulane ER is 4 minutes.

It’s fair to say that a few hospitals in a handful of hotspots have seen higher than normal numbers of people.

No, dude. frick no.

I am taking this virus very seriously, especially as I live in a place that's basically been on lockdown for a week.

But the economic damage is going to be very severe and lasting. Make no fricking mistake about that. You can't just freeze the velocity of an economy for weeks on end and expect a quick recovery. My company is expecting double digit QoQ contraction - that is catastrophic on a level usually only seen in about one lifetime or so.

I’d be curious to see how you debunked it, especially in the point here were I did not claim the US was following Italy’s path. I don’t think Italy is a case model for the US, just as an example of the virus can do. And why you don’t simply wait to see for sure if you follow their model or not.

But if the basis of your point has to do with age demographics, you can go sit and spin with your regurgitated idiocy.

Even if you took away the margin that Italy has older people than the US, you still end up with very concerning numbers.

It’s antedoctal....and I’m professionally in an “essential” industry so maybe I’m off base.

I still see everyone going about doing their thing, going to work and buying items outside of bars and movie theatres. Restaurants took a hit but not massively so, especially not the chain due to delivery.

Obviously doesn’t apply to Cali/Illinois/Ny however.

I don’t view these industries as the core of the economy though.

But if I’m mistaken on that antedoctal comment, fine. I retract it. It’s meaningless to the overall point I was making.
