Mark my words. He is going to give Landry a run for his money. Every Republican not in the Landry camp (which is a lot) will hold their nose and vote for Wilson.

Great, so we will have 8 more years of incompetence.

Landry will only have to point to the traffic in BR and the shitty roads across the state, and Wilson will be sunk.

At one point, DOTD placed giant signs made out of garbage on the side of the road. Really great marketing.

How anyone from DOTD could have a hope for statewide office is beyond me.

Wrong.
Landry may not be a slam dunk candidate, but Wilson will be in way over his head. He will not resonate with Republican voters.

I think you underestimate the harm that Sloth has done.

Almost sounds like what they said with JBE. Twice.

I don't think Louisiana needs any more democratic leadership, but I think if a republican does get elected to governor, they should try to offer Sean his job back.

Wilson is not a bad guy. But he is the head of the DOTD...which most people in the state view as a disaster. You could argue Wilson kept it from being a worse disaster (I know some that would). But when the infrastructure is in shambles and traffic is a nightmare in many places, he's going to get the blame.

His campaign will obviously be he is the guy to make transportation and development his #1 priority...but the average person won't buy that

Say what you want, but widening I-10 to La. 73 has been a blessing for those of us who drive to Prairieville. Also, the work on I-10 by Breaux Bridge and Lafayette is nice.

And thank God someone is finally addressing the cluster in Baton Rouge. No one has touched that and it's been needed since Katrina.

Wrong.

I’m not in Landry camp, but if a runoff for Governor were between him and a leftist Democrat, I would absolutely hold my nose and vote for Landry.

if Wilson runs, he will win in a landfall. He will get 100% of the black vote without trying. He will get all of the white democratic votes as well. This election will be just like Obama's in 2008 because Wilson is simply a man of color.

This has a strong possibility.

Lol no frickin chance. Those people voted for JBE because he was a safe white guy. There's no hookers and diapers vs honor code this time around in 2023.

There’s no nose holding.

He’s awful.

Proven awful.

He sucks hard enough running the DOTD. Can you imagine every agency.

Is there anything in the state of Louisiana worse, and more unifyingly worse than the conditions of our roads? For those uninformed about Wilson’s sucking, Landry just needs to repeatedly say “Wilson was in charge of roads.”

I'm not saying that the "right" Dem couldn't beat Landry, but a guy whose resume is limited to running Louisiana's highway department isn't that guy...
