California does that and say hello to:

Missouri
Indiana
Mississippi
Kentucky
Tennessee
Louisiana

We can do what California, Illinois, Massachusetts etc… have already done a-hole. Oh and a new census where illegals don’t count for Congressional Apportionments!

Would you support a nationwide ban? Every state maps drawn by an independent commission or something along those lines. We can argue about the details but in general, would you support it?

Once the following is done nationwide? Probably…

MA: 36% Republican, O seats
Total delegates -9, seats “lost”: 3

CT: 42% Republican, O seats
Total delegates -5, seats “lost”: 2

ME: 46% Republican, O seats
Total delegates -2, seats “lost”: 1

NM: 46% Republican, O seats
Total delegates -3, seats “lost”: 1

NH: 48% Republican, 0 seats
Total delegates -2, seats “lost”:1

RI: 42% Republican, 0 seats
Total delegates -2, seats “lost”: 1

HI: 38% Republican, O seats
Total delegates -2, seats “lost”: 1

Republicans “should” pick up 10 seats in those states.

In California, Republicans should pick up more seats as well.

The Dems have rigged shite nationwide. Some Republican states have as well.

I say you align your district maps with your affiliation.

Proportional representation based on party affiliation.

That may include an Independent Party as well at some point, provided that they get their shite together.

“ AFTER the DEMS have ALREADY done it”

What does this mean? You capitalized 3 words so you clearly felt strongly about your timeline.

Thank you for your examples in the NE, are you under the impression that there aren’t red states with more red seats than their proportion of votes?

How do we stop those lines being drawn like that then (politics, race)?

Geographic boundaries such as county / parish lines.

What do the numbers look like for predominantly red states?
Like Oklahoma?

shite sounds like we agree. What’s the calculus on the Dems side, how many seats should they pick up? (Say based on proportional representation)

Newsome is setting up where no means yes, and vice versa.

Lefties love creating confusing ballot questions to save "mUh Democracy".

I doubt it.

He’s going to need a clear majority to get it done. He can’t have ambiguous language and risk half of those “confused voters” going the wrong way.

But I do hate when they do that FWIW.

They lose their arse.

It’s why Cali’s commie king is acting out.

Getting rid of gerrymandering hurts the Dems MUCH worse than it does the Republicans.

Saying that they both do it, while true, is a false equivalency in reality.

Humor me. Using the 2024 voting results what would the net be? I know they pick up 2-3 in NC, 3-4 in Tx. Several other states are more red representative than their % of votes.

This is actually the correct answer. Not a big Yang guy but it’s a very good solution.

And we have all seen how playing by a different set of the rules has worked out for the Republicans. frick em. If the left wants this to end, then they must take the first steps to redistricting fairly.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Well that’s pretty good for the dems since they have already gerrymandered almost everything they can .
I think the Republican states should play has hard as California wants to play . By the time republicans get finished they may have a 25 seat advantage

Exactly!!!
The people of CA literally voted 3x AGAINST gay marriage. The courts disregarded all 3 votes and legalized it anyway.

California is already heavily gerrymandered for democrats.

Texas is gerrymandered for democrats as well.

Many Republican states were gerrymandered to ensure democratic districts.

California is just going to make it. More like California, but republican. That would be fair.

California has already done it.

They are roughly 40 percent Republican yet only 17 percent of districts are Republican. Texas has a higher percentage democratic districts because the previous courts rulings which seem to be likely to be reversed.

Some democratic states have no Republican districts. If all Republicans states gerrymandered to the degree that California is, we would pick up over 20 seats i believe.

That would be fair. Unless democrats ungerrymander their states, which isn't going to happen.

These states are already gerrymandered to Hell.
Last election vs. Party Representation Dem to Rep
Illinois - Trump 43%, 19 - 3
New York - Trump 43%, 19 - 7
California - Trump 38%, 43 - 9

This entire debate is laughable. Dems would lose a couple dozen seats if Southern states were not FORCED to gerrymander to accommodate the Voting Rights Act and Federal court mandates.
