It’s harder to do these days, but if you’ve got friends that could help you do this, this is absolutely great advice

Those students are tax payers as well.

If they are working and paying any substantial amount of income tax, why do I need to pay their loans for them?

The majority of unpaid student debt is for advanced degrees. Did you know that?

Which means you're either talking about a bunch of career students (who AREN'T paying any substantial income tax) or you are talking about people who ostensibly already have career jobs.

And if they are baristas at Starbucks with their Lesbian Dance Theory degrees, then we're back to square one...they aren't paying any substantial amount of income tax.

Coming halfway to remove Student Loans in entirety most people (clearly not you) are willing to make.

i think I understand what you mean by that syntax-challenged sentence, but if I misunderstand it feel free to correct me in your reply.

I think what you are doing is trying to use guilt and a thinly veiled charge of me "being greedy" because I'm not willing to help pay someone else's financial responsibility that they freely undertook of sound mind as an adult.

It's the same argument every leftist has made against conservatives my whole life about every form of welfare they could think up. I'm greedy because I don't want to pay for Sheneekia's SNAP or Section 8 or welfare while she sits on her arse and sucks down Dr. Peppers.

The biggest difference here is that the welfare you want to dispense isn't even for poor people. It's for privileged young people, most of whom already have a college degree.

quote:

now they are going to raid everything and you will pay for it all.

Yep. Same argument. "We have to placate the people unwilling to take care of themselves with government handouts; if we don't, they will just riot and loot."

What you don't see is that in agreeing to that, the only difference is that you're giving them your money instead of them taking it. They still get your money either way.

There's a really good book you should read because it might illuminate the folly of what you're suggesting. Here's the Wikipedia page for it:

Wiki

And your original suggestion about "allowing housing prices to fall" comes back into play here. Do you really think that young people would be happy if—for example—federal housing programs went away? It would reduce demand and prices would fall, but it would be because even fewer people would be able to buy them.

You think they would be happy with that?

I don't.

I can't deny that something happened while I was alive, but simply existing during an event, especially one I opposed, doesn't make me responsible for it.

That's guilt by association, not accountability.

Need to do something about the cost of housing after that that doesn’t involve 50 year mortgages. Probably going to have to expand the interest rate tax deduction somehow.

Standard Deduction is already $30,000 a year for young married couples.

Posts like this are very funny. Reminds me of the poster from a few months ago that was telling people that they should go buy a lot of land and round of a few buddies to help them build their house because that’s what his grandpa did lol

My uncle bought land in Natchez and built his own house. People still do that.

I just think my generation and younger don't want that. Young people regret buying homes because of the work needed. If I look at the local market in New Orleans. The expensive homes are moving much quicker than the cheaper homes that would be the $250k and under.

This country is built on the very foundation of association

We had a responsibility. We didn’t fulfill it as a whole. Every man for himself killed this country.

Closing the border (which is directly responsible for the real rise in rent—that one's real, not imagined), kicking the legs out from under DEI and USAID, making the federal to state fraud problem more visible (Biden started many of those investigations, but nobody knew about them), pushing in Iran's shite (which has needed to happen for a long, long time). I'm probably forgetting something.

If you think linking me a children's book and attacking my sentence structure is going to get me to listen to you think again .

When you are ready to win elections again let me know.

House prices are high AF because the government convinced everyone that every adult has a right to own a house. Then, they forced banks to give loans to every adult who could breathe air. The amount of buyers shot up. The amount people could "afford" went up due to banks not being able to deny people.

Then it snowballed. Banks learned they could make money by giving out outrageous loans, watching people foreclose, then repeating the process. Developers and local governments have worked out closed room deals for large amounts of land without a tax burden. Now, normal people can't find or afford their own property.

The housing market needs to crash. Interest rates need to go back up to double digits. We need less people thinking they want/need a house. But that's a losing political game.

The younger demo has a legitimate grievance with the downward pressure on their earning ability/potential, but I’ve got bad news for them if they thought electing democrats was going to fix this specific concern.

Trump has actually been making moves to significantly reduce H1Bs, though I don’t know what effect this has had yet, or what judges have stepped in to reduce the effectiveness of these moves.

How in the frick do you think that the GOP Senate represents "full control"?

Why don't you list the policies that democrats will implement that will produce positive results?

should be easy

“Pushing in Irans shite” has made shite cheaper and more affordable for the average American? Are you fricking serious?

This is specifically the most likely single biggest factor for why last night went the way it did. The reason I keep saying you keep digging your head in the sand is because you keep fricking doing it.

This shite has probably be the single biggest frick up from the executive branch in quite some time and it was completely enabled by a Republican controlled congress. But your dumb arse thinks it’s a positive still. The American people clearly think otherwise.

But yeah bro it’s totally cool we get to own them and flex our badass might. Use that little bit of brain power you got man.
