I am taking issue with the characterization of “comply in the moment” advocates as being authoritarian in nature.
Most officer involved shootings stem from traffic stops. Personally, I think traffic stops are mostly an unnecessary use of police resources. Most are just an excuse to search for drugs or guns which have no basis being illegal in the first place. Inspection stickers are just a racket. Any crime punishable by a fine does not require a traffic stop, imo. And most of the “crimes” punishable by fine being enforced this way are only enforced because they’re a source of revenue for the police department. Fines from penalties should never be a source of revenue for anyone involved in the investigation or enforcement of said fines as it encourages abusive and unsafe behaviors that prioritize revenue generation over public safety.
A traffic stop should only be necessitated by the driver engaging in conduct so dangerous that said driver must be removed from the road. If what they’re doing isn’t dangerous enough to warrant an arrest and time in jail, it’s probably not dangerous enough to necessitate being illegal either.

I'm a guy who was extremely disappointed that Trump did not use the insurrection act to put down the BLM rioters and deliver some brutal law and order and just hid behind bullshite political calculations for some BLEXIT that was never ever going to happen.
I understood that voters respect strength, toughness and willingness to do what it takes to maintain law and order.
It's no accident as to why Trump did worse with white men in 2020 compared to 2016.

First realize the left practically wants total anarchy. They don't even want to see charges pressed against antifa members who throw Molotov cocktails at vehicles full of police officers. They want to defund the police. Anything to the right of absolute chaos is "authoritarian" to them.

they control all news and media except for a small sliver of talk radio and some of fox news. they control all of academia. they control all of hollywood and every movie, tv show, and commercial. they control all of big tech. they control all of social media. they control every major search engine on the internet. they control most major corporations now. they've been in control of every major city in america for decades.
name me one institution of any significance at all that they don't control.
AND YET, institutional racism is rampant? how can that be when the ones that say they aren't racist are in control of every significant institution.
it's either: 1) nothing needs to be done because it's already not racist, or 2) they're actually the oppressors.
it has to be one or the other.
