fricking Christ, you're dumb. You said "If you work for the government, they can't fire you for exercising your first amendment as a private citizen." That is unequivocally untrue.

Maybe do the two seconds of actual research, and you'd have the answer. Idiot

Nah he's right about Louisiana government employees. Civil service code says that supporting or disparaging a political candidate, even in your free time on your personal accounts, can get you fired. You aren't even allowed to donate to political campaigns. It's totally overreaching but it hasn't seen a proper challenge yet.

You can repeat the same thing over and over and over and over again…doesn’t make you right.

I don't need to repeat anything to be right. The facts make me right.

I agree. Only people whose views I agree with deserve legal representation!

That comment from you makes no sense as a response to this statement:

Any lawyer who would assist this piece of filth in her suit against the university should be publically named with billboards and shown to every decent citizen in the area what a POS they really are.

Wouldn't this simply be free speech and freedom of association? Who said this piece of garbage attorney can't keep representing pieces of garbage like this professor? Let him try to stay in business representing the people he supports.

Seems like my sky is blue analogy is perfect then.

Someone just needs to realize the country is a lot bigger than Louisiana…..

That was as good as it was going to get and they knew it. It’s happening everywhere.

That other guy who went to jail for a month got nearly a mil. What’d you think was going to happen when you blatantly violated their 1st amendment rights?

Tn made a business decision. It cost them $2M to keep $10M. Probably could have gotten a better deal but hey it’s still $8M to the good. They might want to ask themselves why they need a professor who teaches the crap this bitch taught. Vet these liberal idiots a little better. The colleges are a an overpriced mess.

What?

The board of trustees paid her a settlement.

Of course, you and the folks who are on bluesky are actual retards.

The settlement itself is not an admission that the university violated the Constitution.

You’re arguing that if they could’ve done it over again, they would’ve done it again, which is jibberish.

But yes, colleges (not all, but generally speaking) are an overpriced mess.

Darren Michael was initially fired from his position as an associate professor of acting and directing in September, before Austin Peay moved him to suspension and fully reinstated him in December, according to a copy of a settlement agreement and settlement authorization obtained by the local Nashville news channel on Monday (January 5)

“APSU agrees to issue a statement acknowledging regret for not following the tenure termination process in connection with the Dispute”

So, they fired him before suspending him and that doesn't follow their own policy.

This has nothing to do with the 1st amendment.

Sure, Jan.

But their lawyers knew they did, which is why they advised the school to settle or face a much larger judgement (and more embarrassment) at trial.

enjoy the victory lap, but let's not pretend you, her, or the Left care anything about the Constitution. laughable.

eta: imagine realizing your political views align with this vile human being. I pray you don't have children or are allowed near them.

Why aren't they reinstating her to her position? She basically got a termination package.
