I suspect if the Biden admin had done this, some would claim it was some sort of retaliation or negligence against NC as was done with the FEMA payouts....
But as have others have said, it is not the FedGov's responsibility. Nor is FEMA.

I applaud it. I would have applauded it if Biden did it.

I know one famil that uses a food bank.
The husband works a job at a tractor/lawnmower/implement dealer. 2 small kids. Wife doesn't work.
I don't fricking care. Their choices led them to their predicament. Do I get to have a choice if I pay taxes to feed them? If I did, I promise I wouldn't. He can get a 2nd job, I've had to do that years ago myself. It builds fricking character.
Life isn't fair. My only responsibility is to my own household.

Geez
Getting back a fraction of money that was taken out of your paycheck, your whole work life, is not a "personal benefit" SS isnt like other taxes. It's a broken "pension" program.
