Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pushed back on President Joe Biden's comment that "a minor incursion" by Russia into his country could reveal a divide among trans-Atlantic allies about how to respond.

Zelensky, whose country is facing the possibility of a Russian invasion after Russian President Vladimir Putin amassed a significant military presence on the border between the two nations, said on social media on Thursday, "We want to remind the great powers that there are no minor incursions and small nations. Just as there are no minor casualties and little grief from the loss of loved ones. I say this as the President of a great power."
quote:

A day earlier, during a marathon press conference, Biden made headlines for appearing to suggest that a "minor" invasion would not result in the harsh sanctions and ramifications that the administration had previously threatened.

“It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion, and we have to fight about what to do and not to do,” Biden said. “But if they actually do what they're capable of doing with the force amassed on the border, it is going to be a disaster for Russia if they further invade Ukraine.”

“There are differences in NATO as to what countries are willing to do, depending on what happens, the degree to which they’re willing to go,” he added, explaining that the most severe sanctions on Russia “are gonna have a negative impact on the United States as well as a negative impact on the economies of Europe as well, [and] a devastating impact on Russia.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki walked back the president's remarks hours later.

I never really realized just how profoundly cognitively impaired Biden's Ukraine statements were. He said Russia sanctions would negatively impact the U.S. and overkilled sanctions as his red-line. Then essentially green-lighted Putin.

This is swamp State Dept foreign policy that is in a bubble and always fails.

What is more frightening is who was the idiot that put these words in the teleprompter or his notes? People like Vindman and Obama, Clinton sycophants running this country is frightening. Their Iran deal was frightening.

Looks like Biden spilled the beans on what his Joint Cheifs etc were advising and had not a clue he was disclosing information from a highly classified briefing.

I'm a little confused by Biden's response to the Ukraine situation. Didn't his family get extremely rich from Ukraine "business" dealings?

In other words, Zelensky is pissed that Biden practically told Putin to take Donetsk and Luhansk. This administration is historically bad in almost every way.

Which faction is currently in power there? If it isn't Brandon's friends, he might welcome the incursions.

For a U.S. President to even speak publicly about Russia and nuke war & green light them shows feckless weakness. Then he showed such reverence to Xi, it was obvious Xi controls Biden.

It is so bad that Cackle Laugh is cleaning up after Brandon. And she is a extra special moron.

Biden has spent the last 50 years as a member of the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Club. He's lived his best life secure within the insulated D.C. bubble, with a chauffeur to take him to-and-from his posh congressional apartment.

Aside from the dementia, he's so far removed from the Popcorn days that he, like all the other septuagenarian congressional lifers, simply has no fricking concept of how the real world works anymore. Nothing that comes out of the POTatUS' mouth surprises me...

I didn't get to see or hear any of his press conference yesterday, but when I heard the clips this morning talking about "minor incursions" and saying things like "Putin has to do something at this point". Or when he was basically admitting out loud, to the entire world that NATO wouldn't be cooperating fully together if he did invade, my jaw was on the floor.

He basically gave Putin the green light to do whatever the frick he wants to do. I knew the guy was a full bore moron, but Jesus, why would anyone say things like that under these circumstances?

Quite possibly the most foolish and outright stupid thing ever publicly spoken by a sitting president of the US.

I'm just baffled by the potato brain's idiocy and total lack of awareness.
