Inflation affects everyone. Wage increases measured at a national level don't. I know it's my own anecdotal experience, but I haven't gotten a raise that matched inflation in years, including this year and probably next year as well. I k ow there's a lot of people in the same boat as me as well. Thankfully we make enough we aren't close to living paycheck to paycheck.

With that said, well under half of the population has a wage that is keeping up with inflation right now. If inflation accelerates, that portion will be even lower

Tell that to people on fixed income.
Inflation is the worst of taxes because it hurts the poor more than anyone.
Which is crazy because it also takes the least amount of value from them, but they don't have the luxury or room to make up the difference, they just do with less.
