I'm glad the world gets to see this disrespect. It puts what he's doing in perspective.

Ugh "more stimulus money." Give me the payroll tax cut and keep the stimulus money. Give something to the people who have been working this entire time and gotten virtually no benefits at all while people sitting at home are making more in UIB than they made in wages.

I'm also wondering how extending the PPP to 24 weeks is actually going to help small businesses if employees can continue to sit at home and get more from UI than from actually working.

They have to do something with the money level on UIB....because as was stated in another thread there is no doubt they are going to extend it.

What they didn't foresee with small businesses was simple. Give them 10 weeks of payroll money to spend in 8 weeks, based off the previous 12 months of payroll.

So, one of the most robust economies in history's payroll was bound to be high for most small business, if that makes sense.

Problem was two-fold:

-you task these small businesses to use this money during a MAJOR downswing in business (if they had business at all) or have to pay the money back over 1.5 years.

-you had to start spending the money on payroll IMMEDIATELY upon receiving it.

this was short sighted and impossible for vast amount of small businesses.

So, now, if you got the money a month ago and still have some left, instead of paying it back when your 8 week window closes, you can keep spending it on payroll/rent etc.

This was a massive deal to all of us. The next push is going to be to simplify the request for forgiveness on the loan, and exemption from IRS bullshite taxes on it.

I'm still not understanding how you are going to pay payroll if employees won't come back to work since they can get north of $800/week (in Louisiana) to sit on their arse at home......who will you be paying all that payroll money to? I'm not saying that you don't need and shouldn't get the PPP, but what I'm saying is that the UIB needs to be reformed to create an incentive for people to go back to work.

Gives employers time to seek new employees (they're out there ready to work, a lot of people hate sitting at home that are used to working).

Also, states will start clawing back on the higher unemployment.
