Trump Lawyers Seek Deal With Mueller to Speed End of Russia Probe

One idea is to suggest a deadline of 60 days from the date of the interview, the person said.
Another consideration for the legal team is reaching an agreement with Mr. Mueller on the scope of his questioning of the president, which they expect to focus largely on his decision to fire former national security adviser Mike Flynn and former FBI director James Comey, according to people familiar with the matter.

Not going to happen. When Mueller is ready to talk to Trump he can just subpoena him for cause when gets evidence. If he can’t find evidence he will send him a written questionnaire

I don't see why they would try to make this deal with Mueller.
They don't have shite on Trump and have no hope of finding anything, and they would be idiots to let Trump actually testify in front of legal hawks that can twist anything into perjury even if they are partisan hacks.

Mueller is not going to be able to subpoena the president of the united states like he's some random joe blow.
He's going to have to prove that information can only be found through testimony from Trump and there is a reasonable case to be made implicating Trump in a crime.
If not, courts and the President will tell Mueller to frick off.
Trump's lawyers should be able to get that subpoena quashed easily.

Beyond that, how does one enforce a subpoena against a sitting president? When he fails to appear, who hauls him off in handcuffs for failing to appear?

Basically. It's humorous to see some people believe that Mueller will be able to just issue a blind subpoena, on Trump, and then do a fishing expedition during the interview.
Mueller probably won't subpoena Trump, that would lead to Mueller having to disclose exactly what he thinks he has on Trump.
Right now, dems are able to utilize fake anonymous sources, and put out there that Mueller has so much shite on Trump. Mueller trying to subpoena Trump, would ruin that fantasy, especially since we all know that Mueller has nothing.
