First off, it wasn't an IPO, second, it's not bad advice to tell a rookie trader they should not be in on a pump and dump or that if they were able to get in that morning because it was crypto that he should have sold after doubling his money. He was trading with out a stop loss which in its self is fricking stupid. Then going to come out and blame Trump as a scammer because he is low IQ.

That guy is dumber than a bag of hammers. He got in, doubled his money from 100k to 205k and didnt sell? What an idiot. That was a very costly lesson

I would have just took the profit because it's common knowledge to an experienced trader that on open it will pump and settle back in at a lower price. Especially on something so obvious. Hedge funds and billionaires are going to make theirs.

These aren't grifts. Stupid people betting their life savings on stock or crypto isn't news.

I'm not dumb enough to buy random cryptocurrency investments though... or meme stocks... or CDs that claim a 10 percent rate of return from a small firm... or etc etc..
I’m still trying to get a feel for where crypto gets its value. As far as I can tell, it was supposed to be just a privately owned/funded medium of exchange outside the eyes and ears of the government. Of course, the same can be said of “points” in a trade association — yet another pain in the arse that I was fortunately never lured into. Same can be said for timeshares and pleasure boats.
At the end of the day, crypto seems like chain letter, pyramid, or Amway/MaryKay type deal where there’s no real value to the base product/service.

There may be a case to be made, but it certainly has not been made in this thread
I don't think it requires a lot of heavy lifting to make a case in general. It's pretty obvious.
Now, I don't know anything about the specifics of this case and it might not be a valid example at all.
But when you slag bitcoins for years as being funny money for crooks, then heavily deregulate them—mostly unilaterally—then proceed to make a billion and a half investing in them inside of a year, I'm not sure what anyone can counter with as far as Trump having become a brazen grifter in general.
He knows the cult won't care. And they don't.
Now if Joe Biden had done it...Yowza.

I see.
So this was not an example of Trump's grifts, but you don't deny that he is engaging in them.
Is that correct?

No, you could not possibly have come to this conclusion from what I stated.

"I'm like, 'I'm getting in,'" Fistikan told Forbes. At its peak, the trucker's investment in the president's social media firm reached $205,000 — a life-changing amount of money for a working class person in the United States. Today, Fistikan told the publication his investment is worth a dismal $30,000.
I WANT TO SUE! I WAS TRICKED! MOMMY MAKE THE BAD MAN GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK THAT I PUT INTO A HIGHLY VOLATILE INVESTMENT

No it doesn’t.
There were other candidates. You chose to vote for HER.

Yeah, I agree with all of that. That is kind of the point of the article, too, that Trump is taking advantage of unsophisticated followers.
I am not a sophisticated stock market investor. So I let others do that for me.

Trump didnt take advantage of anyone. If that were true then every single piece of crypto and every single company in the world took advantage of people. Its just a dumb article written by, participated in and believed by low iq people.

It’s not a scam. Truth Social is a real platform. The guy made an initial sound investment and rode the initial momentum like many but failed to cash out at the right time. New IPOs with hype always shoot up then come back down to reality.
That’s why a truck driver shouldn’t handle his own investments. If you don’t know what you’re doing it’s essentially gambling and in gambling only the house will end up winning
