So basically giving up on the war that we “dominated” if Trump would’ve kept the same energy like he did campaigning and delivered what he actually said he was going to do like he did in his first term. This election wouldn’t even matter it would be a Republican sweep. But here we are.

Because israel is now a big topic in US politics and they are very much considered toxic. We should not be sending countries billions of dollars sjmply because they like us lol are you fricking stupid. We should be cutting aid to all of those countries you listed

It benefits Israel to pay as they go. It takes away the main criticism from the American Right-4 billion seems pretty freaking cheap to accomplish that. Win-win.

Bibi has talked publicly about this since at least January of this year, probably before. This isn't a surprise and has been a goal of both Trump and Bibi since the new administration got in office.
ETA: It stems from the Biden admin cutting off arms deals to Israel during their response to October 7. Bibi wants to remove that possibility in the future by cutting the reliance on US military aid in favor of them purchasing and investing in military manufacturing projects (domestic and foreig). He believes that will give Israel more control of its own defense and stockpiles.
