The fact is, it's up to us to keep gov in check by being involved and vocal.

In the words of Franklin, "A republic if you can keep it".

I'm not a huge fan of this but when you sit back and think what low grade paper is paying in interest its insane.

I do not understand how a person hamstringed with a 4 year 15% loan is ever supposed to get out of debt.

If everyone treated this 10% as temporary and got themselves out of debt under the time period allotted it wouldn't be the worst idea ever except to the financial institution.

The problem is you will have a run on loans at the 10% rate instead of people looking at the 10% as a way to pay off debt.

People are backwards.

I dont like it, but I am not voting for Trump because he's a right wing conservative.

I'm voting for him because he is the only candidate who disrupts the status quo, which is all about driving up the size, scope, and budget for our government by the corrupt entities that benefit from it..

The establishment Ds and Rs will do anything to avoid having the discussion about government corruption. They want us arguing about abortion, the border, and government spending...

This isn't "taking the fight to the Dems", it's joining the Dems in their race to have government control private business, to kill the free market economy, and it's joining the Dems when the Dems look at Americans and shout "you're too stupid to make your own economic decisions, so WE will make them for you!!!"

No the fight is saying what it takes to get the low iq votes and then ignore them when you get in office and blame democrats. Geez man, do you really think he’s going to keep that stupid promise?

No. Treating the population exactly the same = equality.

So giving billions of dollars to illegal immigrants who never pay a dime in income taxes is treating those who do equality?

Using tax payer money to pay off student loans equals equality?

Paying housing, utilities, cellphone and medical to some Americans is equality?

Giving 1000s of dollars to people who don't pay income taxes to begin with equals equality?

I loan the government 1000s of dollars for 40 yrs and they are gonna tax me when I get paid my money back? That's equality?

frick YOU DUDE!

My late FIL once told me that when Social Security was created, it was a dedicated fund and Democrats changed it to the general fund. Google says that it has never been changed to the general fund. BUT, the government has borrowed 1.7 TRILLION dollars from that fund to cover costs from government spending. Even though I don't think that it will ever happen, if Trump wants to make a major statement, announce and work to have Social Security off limits to cover shortfalls to wasteful spending and it's only use is for it's original intention. IMO, it could help save it.

Why would you not support this? 10% interest was around what most credit card loan consolidation companies were offering to help people get out of credit card debt before Biden/ Harris got elected.

Just curious what reasons would you have to not support it?

Even if he could never do it, it's a smart move to offer to try to do it. Lots of people in credit card debt now, and Trump is only going to be a 1 term President if he gets re-elected. I say offer to try it, and get the votes so we get rid of Biden/ Harris.

This is an unforced error on DJT’s part. It’s dangerously in the neighborhood of Kamala’s price controls.

Stupid idea.

What's the difference between this and Kamala's grocery "price gouging" caps?

I believe that will have 2 effects, neither of which are great.

1. Tightening of new credit approvals.

2. Kicking the can down the road for more people at higher levels of credit usage. Then they stop paying.

Okay. So what else is he lying to us about? Ending the war in Ukraine? Closing the border? Kicking out illegals? Spending and lower the national debt?...

Either we take him at face value when we proposes things or it all falls apart.

I take him at face value (because what choice do I really have) and I don't like this at all. I hate the pandering that is happening.

Targeted income tax decreases to buy votes is socialism.

That's not even close to the definition of socialism. People love to just throw out negative words for things they don't like.

That's racist.
That's socialist.
That's populist.
That's fascist.

Words have meanings. You can't just say something is something else just because you don't like it. That's what the left does. We should be better than that.

Those are all things he’s has the power and will to do. Maybe start there. Foreign policy and invasions being the chief responsibilities of the CIC and all.

Engineering government policy to favor treatment by government one group is pretty socialist.
