1. It's "The Root", it's going to have an incredible leftist slant. Shame on you for posting a link to such drivel.

2. ABAWD's (if you don't know the term, look it up) are a huge and largely unnecessary drain on the system. Almost a decade ago Maine put work requirements on SNAP for them (20 hours per week of work, job training or volunteer work), the impact was that their ABAWD caseload dropped by 80% in just 3 months. Similar numbers have been seen in other states that have put similar requirements in place.

Bloomberg reports that the administration is looking to take away some of the power that states have to automatically enroll people who are receiving welfare benefits into the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), more commonly known as food stamps. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue told Bloomberg that states have “misused this flexibility.” “We are changing the rules, preventing abuse of a critical safety net system, so those who need food assistance the most are the only ones who receive it,” Perdue said.

From your link, learn to read.

They arent even changing the requirements fir eligibility. Just stopping people from getting automatically enrolled when they arent eligible.

I think you'd be blown away by the statistics of food stamp abuse.

There is a huge correlation between food stamps and obesity. But just for women.

Make $32,000/year, don’t be the single income earner with two children. Problem solved
