This obviously did not work as planned and they had no back-up plan. They’ve been making up as they go ever since. This is more of the same (and a slap to the faces of those that stormed beaches in France years ago).

It's been clear that Trump is essentially buying time because he thinks the Iranian economy will crash and then the people will rise up.
There are two major problems with this. First, the people are still unarmed. Second, we can just look at Iraq and see how Saddam managed his people even after their economy crashed. He did anything necessary to subjugate his people, even when they were starving to death.
It turns out that Islamic fundamentalist regimes are perfectly capable of, & willing to, kill their own people to maintain power. It will be the same in Iran.
It won't matter if their economy crashes, the IRGC will maintain power.

They’ve had the last 6 months to establish economic and military support with these countries behind the scenes.
So unless we’re willing to implement the blockade at Irans borders, Irans position has already been at its weakest point. It’s unlikely things get worse for them. As supply lines mature, they likely hit a level to sustain the regime absent a catalyst which causes collapse.

I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed, but one of the terms of a trade deal Trump was making with India in exchange for not tariffing the hell out of them was for them to buy oil, and a bunch of LNG, from the U.S.
India and China are two of the largest customers of U.S. oil. We barely send half a turd of oil to Pakistan.
