This was a planned attack on Christians that ended up reaching RoeVWade status

Untold how long this will pay dividends for the left, painting essentially the narrative of christian business owners with the stigma that they are anti-gay.
Apply it to a different business and ask if this lawsuit would have sniffed a judges fart? A painter. A guy walks into a Jewish Painter's store and says he wants a painting of Hitler. People who are arguing the christian cake maker's should have to make the gay's cake are saying the Jewish painter has to stroke by stroke paint hitler.
But this wasn't about cake, cause there are lots of cake makers. And as far as I can tell Christians don't make better cakes than anybody else.
So what was this about? Advancing a narrative in the left's social justice war. Forcing a business owner to fight for perfectly valid business principals, all because the labels line up with a social issue the Liberal Left wanted to knock out of the park. And they took it to the Supreme Court, got it passed, it's overturned now but the narrative was an enormous victory.
Their intended message?
CHRISTIANS.
STILL.
HATE.
GAYS.

The really sad part here is that most Christians don't actually hate homosexuals. We just think they are living in a sinful lifestyle and we don't want to support it.

To reprobates, it’s not enough for Christians to just tolerate sodomy. It must be enthusiastically celebrated by all of society or else.

The good news is Christians are a much bigger voting block than gays.
So the Christians that are turned off and can see though these progressive tactics will easily offset the number of gay voters that are gained on the progressive side.

the SC ruling was not on the merits of free speech, nor freedom of religion
SC ruled that Colorado did not give defendant a fair case to defend them selves. state can recharge/try defendant again on original issue
not to say it wont be appealed again and the SC could rule against the law next time around.

It comes down to the simple fact that any business should be able to serve or not serve any customer, for any reason. In today's day and age, if the reason for non services is sexual, race, or gender based, social media will probably do them in anyway.

IMHO, it does create a RvW issue but not necessarily the one the left wants.
It pretty much wrecks the narrative of “acceptance” and instead shows they want to force participation.
One of the early arguments on gay marriage was the slippery slope with regard to forcing churches to host them, etc. The left insisted that no such thing would take place.
And now we have a legal precedent based on the attempt to force participation in the ceremony and, more specifically, the state’s violation of Freedom Of Speech for not doing so.
It may help keep the gay vote on the Dem plantation but likely helps spur other groups to bolt before they are compelled to do something against their beliefs.

The ruling was a victory for freedom
If you want to be miserable and chalk it up as a loss then you do you man.

Westboro Baptist Church is the most accurate version of christianity practiced in the US. They actually follow all the tenets of the Bible more vigorously than almos any other sect..
how sad is that.
and they do hate gays.

If this bait were any more obvious it would say “Come and get it, Christians.”

And you pretend to assume that all Christians agree with that. Or are anything like Westboro Baptist.
Have a well earned downvote.

What on earth are you talking about?
The case at issue was that the baker wouldn't make an utterly neutral wedding cake that happened to be used in a gay wedding.
The majority of SCOTUS ruled that the baker didn't get a fair shake in his local hearing, so the lower decision was overturned.
The dissent argued that, because it was a generic cake as opposed to a cake actively voicing support of gay marriage, the sanction should stand.
I find both positions to be the height of reasonable; they simply emphasized different things, and thus came to different positions.

Are ceremonies protected or just people?
What happens if a parent went to buy a cake for gay sons wedding and was denied? Is there a charge then?
It is the gay wedding that was discriminated against, not the gay people.
I bet the same Baker would sale a cake to the same customer if it was for their moms birthday.

Of course it's an attack. The plaintiffs in many cases are shopping cake makers until they find one that turns them down, for the sole purpose of suing.

No Christian would ever tell a gay person that:
A) They are a sinner
B) They hate them
C) They are doing something wrong by being gay
D) That being gay is wrong
If anything remotely above is said about a gay person the person saying it is not a true Christian.
I'm a Christian.
And I have read about homosexuality in the old testament.
But I know the end of the story. We are called to love as Jesus loved and leave the judgment up to God.
