Except without Trump there is no JD Vance, at least not as we know him now. If Trump had never come along and changed the agenda to America First, the GOP would still be running uniparty Romney Republicans and we'd be in the second Hillary term right now, which would also be the fourth Democrat president term in a row. We'd have 52 states right now, a 7-2 Dem majority in the SCOTUS, no senate filibuster, and amnesty to tens of millions of illegal immigrants. In short, the U.S. would be a one party state by now.

Trump saved us from that parade of horribles. You should be thanking not bashing him. He made the current GOP, which is better than the pre 2016 GOP.

Wasn’t that McCain with his reach across the aisle “conservatism” shaming his own voters for attacks on Obama? Or the reasonable corporate raider who signed the Obamacare template that ran four years later and basically quit campaigning after securing the nomination? The one who cast a vote to impeach his own party’s elected President?

Yeah, neither of them got close to being elected. Trump got elected and swept in a very different kind of political approach which is how J.D. Vance wound up on that debate stage. I think when Trump is gone, you never Trumper “conservatives” are going to have a lot of mental gymnastics to do to convince yourselves you’re not part of the problem.

Do you really believe that the Left - who will create a ‘derangement syndrome’ against any opposition politician who challenges their “fundamental change “, and if that don’t work, shoot them - is going to let the ‘nice guy’ persona defeat them? Vance would be out of office, in jail or dead if he challenged them like Trump obviously does. Marxist have but one rule: “whatever it takes “. Nice and ‘civil’ don’t have a snowball’s chance re that.

I agree and Vance definitely looks like a promising Presidential candidate for 2028.

Like those two bums McCain and Romney?

Bad comparison. They were running in a terrible environment; Trump is running in a great one.

When Romney ran he was facing a super-likable, talented incumbent who could not be blamed for a slow growing economy that imploded right before he took office. That is a near impossible task that Romney did a credible job of.

McCain was just one of those awful candidates that both parties ejaculate from time to time. I’m thinking Dukakis, Mondale, Dole, McCain and now Biden and Harris.

I agree that there are several Republicans who would have stood a much better chance of winning, but I want to make two points.

1. Those Republicans would only stand such a good chance because Donald Trump engineered a realignment.

2. The agenda they would have implemented would be much more go-along-get-along than what we’ll see from Trump.

That’s one perspective…. another is that Americans are being purposefully divided by the State and their Media/Tech lackeys.

You can trust that if the IC thought Vance was an immediate threat to DC, Vance would be in their crosshairs instead of Trump. They want us divided …. and they are currently succeeding.

I don’t see any scenario nowadays where one candidate wins on a 60-40 margin or larger. I mean Biden is a dead body up there and yet the whole democrat party still voted for him.

Because his opponent was Trump. A guy like Vance, at the top of the ticket, with a VP like Nikki Haley, would pull 5% points from Harris with women flocking back. They could win the popular vote by 6% in my opinion.

They did the same thing to Reagan. For those who either weren’t alive or were too young to remember, they might have gone after Reagan even more than they've gone after Trump.

You make a good point, but it’s not close to true that they went after Reagan as much as after Trump. It is true that they were extremely unfair in their coverage, but there was no lawfare, and the media made a show of impartiality.

Reagan had the personality to defuse the attempts to paint him as radical. He was avuncular. Unfortunately Trump does not have one of Reagan’s greatest strengths, which was the ability to take himself lightly.

Without Trump, Vivek, JD, and RDS would still be unknowns. They would be considered to be too radical and would be back benches at best. The establishment would either tame them or make them irrelevant.

We [NEEDED] Trump because he gave republicans the balls to stand up to the left.

If Trump does not win this year, THIS is the greatest gift Trump gave America and the Republican party. If he does win, then it will still be up their high, but slowing the left radicalism cannot be overstated.

The reason I say "needed" verses "need" is because it has been learned and hopefully will continue to be the case that GOP candidates fight back. Vivek, Cruz, Rubio, Haley, and, yes, Vance have all proven that they learned.

So, we really didn't NEED Trump to teach us all that again, but I don't blame him for running again after how the 2020 election was processed.

I agree Vance is smooth and likable, but you’re missing one thing.

Vance nor DeSantis has the power of the Trump empire to stand up to the global cabal that runs the world. They would have been controlled or threatened out of existence. We need Trump and his war chest.

Without Trump, you don't get Vance. Trump fundamentally changed the party. The key will be if those changes stick after he's gone.
