What would the calm, ratioanl man be doing if he was stranded in an airport in Mexico with one vending machine for the foreseeable future?
Looking for the second vending machine and raiding the airport bar. Maybe watching some movies or news on my phone.

So there’s going to be a dire need for replacement Mexicans?
Yes, in Mexico. We just happen to have some we can send to them.

I would also have a gun on me.
Both times me and my wife traveled to Mexico for vacation i brought my concealed carry pistol and one of my modified short barrel AR15s

“ Internal issues in Mexico has literally nothing whatsoever to do with the Monroe Doctrine. ”
When there is innocent American lives involved it does. Let me guess - you’re a libertarian.

How did you get clearance for that?

How did I bring the weapons or how do I own a modified AR15?

Bring weapons into a foreign country while on vacation?

American lives or protecting American tourists abroad have nothing to do with the Monroe Doctrine. The MD and Roosevelt corollary concerns European (or other international) interference in Latin America
It simply isn’t applicable here.

We drove though the checkpoint near fort huachuca in arizona where I went to AIT and spent a fair amount of time as an intelligence soldier, I had crossed the border many times and knew many of the people there.
Also went through the military ID access checkpoint using my CAC card and never got a second glance

Whenever I see arguments with stuff like this, I am reminded just how many epidemiologists we had in this country in 2020.

Can’t believe I read three pages into this thread and never once saw the words “compromised” or “assets”. You wanna-be intelligence/policy experts are falling off your game.

I was in Puerto Vallarta a few years ago and went downtown for the parades during fiesta de la virgin Guadalupe and felt no fear. My friend and I hung out for a bit in one art gallery being given beer by the owner while the parades passed. We of course did buy a few items.

When are we going to do something to take action against this?

How about we use the world’s finest military to seal the border. No one enters from the Southern border. Cartel operatives will be shot. How’s that ?

The person said they are locked in the airport with a vending machine.
Well, if the Mexican army has control of the airport then they are in a secure location with the means to survive, even if it isn’t a luxury resort with catered meals.

When are we going to do something to take action against this? Mexico is a total and complete failed state with either no capacity to deal with this level of escalation or way too corrupt to do it.
This cannot be allowed so close to our country if we want to take the Monroe doctrine seriously in a modern form
Another dumbass pub/dem.

Am I correct in assuming you believe the US is acting appropriately by ignoring US citizens stranded in Mexico right now?
Jesus Christ you are one dumb mother fricker! How do you make it through a day? Have you ever been involved in a NEO? I have and even before you can attempt to land US Military aircraft at a foreign nation you have to get approval from US and Mexican politicians, secondly you have to bring enough personnel to establish a secure perimeter along with teams to process and triage the civilians. These teams have to be thoroughly trained and the best unit in this situation would be a MEU(SOC). It is no where as simple as your moronic mush brain likely thinks it is!

we in the US and our appetite for cocaine and other drugs are part of the problem. We help create these problems.
If we manufacture and distribute these drugs to Americans, this shite will end. I know we think the US could ever do that but if we had to, we could.

We don't have the right climate for coca or else we would

Prior to the military action taken by Mexico, did the US have warnings about traveling to Mexico due to Cartels, civil unrest?
No. The State Departments assessment of the various states of Mexico are essentially the same as when I went there back in January. I flew into Merida and the state of Yucatan and Campeche are still shaded green or take normal precaution. Every other state carried greater risk up to don't go there.
