The airport is closed by the Mexican government until the end of the month. They would have to grant an exemption for any airplanes to land there.

This is totally true. It is also an issue when youre texting or communicating with someone you dont know well digitally one on one

If and when the Mexican government asks for more help, is there any doubt Trump will help???

Once again, us regular folks have zero idea about whats going on behind the scenes. The Mexican government asked for Navy Seals to help "train" their military units a couple of weeks ago, and suddenly, one of the cartel guys is taken out! Just a coincidence????
I think not. Anyone that doesn't believe we already have Tier One elements operating in Mexico, along with CIA and DEA assets are simply dumb.

I find it amusing, and a bit sad, that the same panican idiots around here can't seem to see the trees for the forest.

We have done this before.

To say it didn't work out well can't even be called an understatement because it backfired so much.

I've been to Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta numerous times. I felt safer in those cities than I felt in Atlanta, New Orleans, NYC and other places in the US.

Did you stay in a resort or in the middle of the city? I went to Puerto Vallarta last year. I stayed in a resort. I did not feel like I would have been safe staying anywhere between the airport and the resort that had a 20 foot wall surrounding it. I grew up in Memphis and also lived in Atlanta for 4 years. I definitely felt safer both places.

Am I correct in assuming you believe the US is acting appropriately by ignoring US citizens stranded in Mexico right now?

I have literally covered this in far more detail across many posts already in this thread.

Mexico has their own elite tier one operators but theyre a small force. They live and die entirely by American fed intel. They are extremely good at what they do and no our special forces arent training them they dont need to.

You are correct in your assertion the DEA and CIA have massive organized prescences inside Mexico consisting of one our largest humint networks in the world and yes strike teams

Oh, I know. I'm not naive about the cartels. And Mexico has a higher murder rate (in percentages and raw numbers) than the US. I'm well aware. And granted, I'm not going to the ghettos in Mexico City when I visit there.
Also, those 2 different situations, those guys just brandished their firearm to me. They didn't point them at me. They were just letting me know, get your white @ss out of here!

I may have misinterpreted your posts, but I understood them to be basically confidence that the US has great intel in Mexico, so we should just quietly trust the government to take care of this.

They aren’t. 1000% percent chance that POTUS is getting hourly updates on the situation in Puerto Vallarta and the condition of any Americans that may be in harms way. FYI. The Mexican army controls the airport and has since a few hours after this all started. It’s probably one of the safest places in Mexico right now.

Trump 2.0 is like nothing before. Please, don't misunderstand me, I'm not pretending Trump is perfect or impeccable, but this time isn't like last time or anything we've seen before.

I don't know how effective we'll be at hurting the cartels and their negative impact on America, but I do know it will be better than anything we've seen before.
(when I say "Trump", I'm speaking about his team around him)

What else are you going to do exactly Cubbies? I actually have sympathy for your position here, I think whenever any of our citizens find themselves in sudden danger for hostile forces inside another nation its a major deal that needs to be handled as such. However expecting some type of military operation to rescue them or us activating any of our covert various forces to evacuate them is absurd and not realistic.

We have to trust they will handle it properly

I stayed at a resort. 35 minutes to the south of the airport. I went to the Zona Romantica and the Malecon many times though. Always felt very safe. Tons of Americans and Canadiens were down there.

There's not much I can personally do about this.

Fair enough. Is it unreasonable to expect the government to provide any reassurance to citizens stranded in Mexico right now, in your opinion?

The President getting updates doesn't provide updates to the stranded citizens.

The person said they are locked in the airport with a vending machine.
