The people preaching that modest population decline is a bad thing are the ones who've levered their fortunes in the expectation that we can maintain an unsustainable rate of economic growth. Unfortunately, for several decades now our growth rate has nothing to do with prosperity, it's inflation of the money supply and ever growing debt fueled consumption (which of course requires more consumers), both of which will end badly.

Demographics make the situation much worse than a blanket drop across socio-economic lines.
Birth rates among the poor, stupid and incompatible are well above replacement.
The only hope we have is that many hardcore Christians still breed like rabbits.

I blame this squarely on the shoulders of feminism, and all those who allowed it to poison American. That not only created broken families and confused households, but also necessitated two income families and outrageously expensive to both have and raise kids, not to mention not raising children properly because of the absence of parents in parenting.
But then again, I suppose you have to put some of this on men as well for relinquishing their roles. The whole thing is simply messed up, and what we’re left with is a people who don’t even know or fill the roles they were designed to fill from birth. Many don’t even know their own sex.
But to be fair, every bit of this is a result of this country leaving God, and believing man’s lies instead. This is where it’s gotten us all.

I think the country needs this. Things will once again start becoming more affordable so that nuclear families can afford to have more children. Meanwhile those who aren't looking for families will continue to not have them. Somewhere along the way, Trump's cuts to disability, welfare, and food stamps will stunt the growth of births fron unwed black mothers. Both will be positives for the country. The issues is worldwide though, in the same time frame, Muslims will continue to outpace Christians greatly.

The tax rate is definitely not correlated to birth rate. Use your head for a minute: the highest taxes were in the first half of the 20th century and have steadily decreased since then.

The worst part of declining birth rates is the demographics of who is and who is not having children. The best and the brightest need to propagate the next generation of the best and the brightest.
