It's important because Jews were targeted as a race/religion in a way that no one else was, although the gypsies/Roma come close. Hitler was looking to defeat France, not eradicate Frenchmen, though his despicable regime killed many.

Somebody did a bogus obit for Hitler following the NYT obit for Khameini, and called him something like a warm Austrian painter.
I don’t know of anything else beyond that.

No, it hasn't.
Let's be clear on this though: there is no complete record of every Jew killed by the Nazis. The "6 million" number is a rough estimate (ranging from 5.7M-6.3M) based on what records did survive, census data from both pre and post-war Europe (the areas Hitler controlled), synagogue records and other Jewish organizations both before and after the war, ghetto and camp transport and arrival records, Einsatzgruppen reports (which are pretty much universally believed to be only partial records) and eyewitness testimony from both survivors as well as Nazi perpetrators.
If anything, the 6M estimate may be low. Time has a way of eroding the true horrors of war, especially for those who were never there.

Yeah, at least a portion of ‘these people’ are called the FBI. Those frickers have been Pied Piper-ing young conservative men (and other groups) like this for a couple decades or more. And we have an epidemic of uneducated young men working dead-end jobs - if they’re working at all - that are easy to prey on.

the primary focus on the holocaust has been by jews in jews.
I sometimes think we do ourselves a disservice when we fail to remind people that millions more were killed in the Holocaust.
on the flip side, I think trying to minimize the focus and scope of the attack on jews specifically isn’t great either.
Whenever i see someone talk about “why don’t they talk about the Roma, or slaves or poles”
“They” means jews. The person asking the question usually doesn’t care about those groups and is ignoring that every holocaust museum does talk about them and those museum are run by jews.

I haven’t seen this but I was one of the first to start watching his speeches in English. For all the destruction and murder and hysteria, he had some good points. It would be good if everyone could get beyond “Hitler Bad!” and actually examine the way he came to be. He was quite charismatic and people wouldn’t have thought he was “Hitler” at the time he was launching himself into power.

The Nuremberg trials. He tried to tell me that 6 million Jews dying in the holocaust was a made up number and that it was actually much lower. Then he seemed to speak derogatorily and say the joos and snicker.
This is a kid that had a Trump flag on his wall for a year, the one where he’s raising his fist and has blood coming from his ear.
He finally took it down. I’m a Trump supporter, but I just thought the flag was in poor taste for a 13 to 14-year-old. His Mom (who votes democrat because they promise to pay off her student loans) bought if for him.
So, my conservative son, who attends a private catholic high school has either been taught, told by his friends or seen TikTok videos that the holocaust is a bit of a hoax.
I didn’t even try to argue with him. He’s at that age where the more I try to convince him of anything he just digs his heels in harder.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. People being unwilling to get beyond the reputation and study how and why he came to power is a disaster. He didn’t campaign on killing Jews. He made them the enemy but people weren’t getting behind him thinking they were going to kill millions of people
