you think the stipulations for them to get the investments/loans will allow them to spend it all on military? Panicans gonna panic. Even if they did (they won’t) we would still have a far superior military.

Have you ever made a budget?

I’m going to use the same argument that is rightfully used against planned parenthood.

Every tax dollar used to pay for other services is more money they can allocate for abortions.

Thus every dollar they get from “gulf states” for “power plants” is money they don’t have to spend of their own on that and money they can allocate to military

No.

I reserve that for the people that ordered them there.

If I declared that my neighbor was a murdering rapist, I could not just kill the guy. Just because the Deep State declares some Iranian dude a ‘terrorist’ doesn’t mean we can just kill them.

I find it strange that the MAGA folks were all ‘drain the swamp’, but will happily kill foreigners when that same swamp tells them to. Same people defended Obama when he killed US citizens with drones.

So it ok to murder if you’re just following orders? Hmmm. Where have I heard that before???

Don’t crawfish. You called all veterans that have served in an armed conflict since and including Vietnam a murderer. You’re a vile disgusting piece of shite.

So you’re in the camp that Iran isn’t the world’s top sponsor of terror? Interesting. That’s a lonely camp nowadays.

That’s because you’re not all that bright.

And without sanctions they're going to be making like $1-2B/week now legally

It's not just the $100B in unfrozen assets or the $300b in "investments", the lack of sanctions means they're going to be printing money like they haven't in decades.

According to Vance that’s coming in the form of loans or investments from gulf states. Not the United States.

"Why not stick around for the signing ceremony with this Iran peace deal?" a reporter asked Trump, who is already in France attending the G7 summit.

"It's very important, but it might not be the kind of a document that I should be signing," Trump answered. "This way, if it works out, I'm going to take the credit. If it doesn't work out, I'm blaming JD. You better be careful, JD," he added.

It was a joke, but its really all we need to know. If Trump thought this peace deal was good for the US, he would sign it himself. Instead he is pinning it on Vance.

and replaced them with people, including the head guy's son, who have even MORE reason to hate our guts. Smooth move.

Iran's getting money right off the bat via the termination of sanctions and the ability to sell oil along with them getting back frozen funds.

We had leverage because Iran was desperately running out of funds but they won't be anymore upon signing the MOU.

Remember all the people who said Iran was going to capitulate weeks ago because it had no place to put its oil and we'd win the war?

I am. I call them as I see them.
That obviously doesn't mean my opinions are infallible.
No ones are.

But I can guarantee "reduced to" or "muppet" are mischaracterizations. That's not my game.

We get an Iran with no nuclear weapons ever.

You can not be this oblivious. Iran will continue to seek nuclear weapons in any way it can. This agreement is just like any other; there is no real way to ensure durability, just like when the Trump administration unilaterally withdrew from the JCPOA on a random Tuesday.

quote:

We pay them zero.

Keep in mind we already have sunk costs upwards of $100 billion, 14 US lives, and hundreds of injuries. So while we may not pay anything into the funding ourselves we are facilitating it.

The problem with discussing this now is that the most important provisions (nuclear arms) are still months away. My concern there is that every day the final deal gets closer to the midterms, the more leverage Iran gets.

The reality is that this deal will rightfully be compared and contrasted with the JCPOA, for it to be considered a better deal, it has to be better enough to justify the sunk costs from the last few months. So far, it is fundamentally not as good, but one can't fully determine that until the final deal is made (or not) in the future.
