I've been watching a lot of economic doom porn. Bessent is doing everything he can, intervening in yen markets, buying our own bonds (this doesn't sound good), and likely intervening in energy markets. I don't think he can keep it going, but let's pray he can because we're looking at 2008 on steroids.

We all know what the issues are.

The thread I made was not long after Biden stepped down.

Trump is a lame duck. He's not running again. There was literally no reason why this shouldn't have been priority focus #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Like I've said since 2016, my biggest problem with Trump is his economic leftism, which in large part is based in his admin's spending. And after admin 1? After all the spending PRIOR to Covid?

What's interesting is the Iran conflict probably kick started this crisis.

This guy was relatively complimentary of Bessent a week ago. Now, he's trashing him and said in a separate pod today economic Twitter is piling on, too.

I don't know this guy Currie (this is my first time watching him), but he has a nice summary of all the intervention in the first 5-10 minutes.

What, Iran is but an another problem needing fixing before China can be controlled. The debt is a problem that Congress makes happen or should I say lobbyists and ngos make happen. One would be devoid of understanding to not consider that being with fraud being shown in last year or so that it wasn’t going on for last 50 years with blown out growth in it over last 30 years. America would not have 1/10 this debt if all that did not happen

You know what it really looks like.
40,000,000.000,000 and counting. It’s beyond salvation long ago. There is no possible way that debt can be wiped out. They just ignore that elephant in the room because they can’t and won’t do anything about it.

The margin for error post-Covid was always small, and neither Biden nor Trump acted in a way to deal with the issue and ran the other direction instead.

And Covid was the straw that broke the back of our post-GFC economy.

And Trump wants $500B more per year in defense spending while irrationally defending SS/Medicare.

"Wiping out the debt" is an unfair standard. It's about making our annual deficits more in line with GDP over time. Eventually the debt would come back in line with our GDP if we did this over a long period of time.

After Trump 1, and all of the Covid spending, there was no way we could ever directly attack the debt. The insane spending of the Trump admin sealed the deal, leading to the inflation that Biden helped extend by doubling down on the insanity in 2021.

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then so is value. The US can (but won’t) overcome this debt by explaining the value provided for it/by it- even if that means future value.

But a “company” that changes both its leaders and direction every 4-8 years is a no-go for investment.

We have been destined for, and working towards, failure- since 01/08/1828 (the founding of the Democratic Party).

We are a house divided.

Trump went along with it
Worse. Trump primaries Thomas Massie for not going along with spending MORE. Even Nancy Pelosi wouldn't go along with all the spending Trump wanted. The idea that Trump was a victim of COVID doesn't hold up, because he no only wanted all of the spending--he wanted even more spending and stimulus checks.

I remember quite well when the Covid-19 Hysteria Psyop was gaining momentum there were several Democratic Socialist members of Congress who wanted to drop $10 trillion on the New Green Deal. As I recall, one of those Dim members of Congress was AOC pushing for the New Green Deal and she's seems to be quite popular with a lot of street level Democratic Socialists.

The collapse of the US will fall equally on unprincipled, corrupt and immoral members of the US Congress and low IQ street level Americans.

Your intimation of any equivalency between the two remains asinine.

LOL.

As someone who does not accumulate DVs, I'd guess >1/4th of my DVs come in single anonymous DVs, issued almost immediately in my responses to your posts. Weird?

You have a bunch of pent up hormonal imbalance tension being sidelined ?

Evidently those nonexistent lawfare judges think that the WH has no right to do anything democrats don’t desire, maybe like ballroom or curtailing money flows to ngos. Presidents can do many things but usually because of inaction Congress.
