REPORTER: "What were the officers doing between 11:44 and 12:44...?"

"We've been given a lot of bad information, so why don't you clear all of this up and explain to us how it is that your officers were in there for an hour...but yet no one was able to get inside...?"

Texas DPS response: We'll circle back to that. I want to answer your questions, we'll take them back to the team and talk to you soon. Thanks for being here.

Hard to have worse optics than standing outside while kids get shot and preventing parents from going into the school to save their kids.

I’ll take a leap here.

From the little boys interview, he said they were hiding and the police yelled who needs help. One kid yelled and the gunman shot him/her. THEN the police stormed in and killed the guy. I would bet the border patrol guy disobeyed orders by storming in and shooting at that point.

This is almost as bad as the Vegas police when they tried to cover up the Saudi Vegas concert shooting

cops here are the same, call about an active shooting and they take an hour to show up, say the shooting is over and no one is shooting any more and they show up in 5 minutes. they simply refuse to enter any area with an active shooting going on until the shooting has stopped

They’d probably look good if the media asked questions like this to democrats.

Twitter link but you need to watch this video

My blood is boiling.

Cops had parents down on the ground and tasers out to keep them from rushing the school.

Another bunch of Broward Cowards. We should have made a public example out of those spineless pussies, as well as the piece of shite sheriff Scott Israel, just dragged them through the coals in the media for months on end where everyone would know their name and faces, and then done a public hanging as they would in the 1880s. Guarantee if we had done that that these pussy cops would have stormed into that school no matter how much they didn’t want to. You’d only have to do it once for every cop in the country to get the idea.

Ok I can be reasonable about this. You have to secure the scene. You can't have a flood of distraught parents rushing into an active shooting to save their children. I get why they'd want to, I get why they can't be allowed. A crime scene doesn't work like that any time.

But WTAF were the cops doing that they couldn't get to him for an hour inside the building? The initial response seems to have been bungled from the first shot

That twitter video is infuriating. Those cops would have to shoot me. I'm getting in that school to save my kid or the cops kill me.

After a couple days to process what went on? One of the biggest questions of the while thing gets a “I’ll circle back” answer?

Same. Tell me again "you don't need an AR15 to fight the government".

It seems you might have to fight the police to stop someone from killing kids.

F8ck the gun grabbers.

I'm absolutely Monday morning quarterbacking after 20 kids died. I'd like to tell you what I'd do if I was a cop in that situation and you've already been fired on trying to get to the shooter and may very well be killed if you continue. There's no easy choice.

But I absolutely hate Whitlocks take there that a cop would hesitate in that moment for fear of persecution after the fact. That's a bullshite take.

I'm not defending the actions of the officers. But we've demonized law enforcement to the point that there are far fewer rewards for being a hero, for taking risks. When your culture makes George Floyd the hero, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.

He ain't wrong.
