The Dallas Stars and Mavs both announced this week that they are leaving downtown Dallas.

The Rangers and Cowboys are doing just fine because they decided to smartly move to Arlington decades ago located halfway between Dallas and Ft Worth and also next door to Six Flags.

You've never had the misfortune of attending a Bears game in Chicago, have you?

I have. it's an incredible location

Chicago/Illinois could keep the bears, at least in the northern burbs which honestly is probably the best area for them.
They obviously can’t align… which really means they don’t care enough to offer the money and land for it (at taxpayer expense). A stance I sort of agree with.
On to NW Indiana, that paradise of progress and prosperity.

What they wanted and were denied was some property tax relief for an extended period of time.
So still some sort of handout from the state?

You realize the city/state going to lose more money with the team leaving than they would have if they had given them some tax relief. You retards have such a myopic world view you will cut off your nose to spite your face. It's literally mental retardation on full display.

I’m just asking a question…

"San Francisco" 49ers play their home games 43 miles from San Francisco.

Next let’s move the New Orleans saints to the Mississippi coast. It’s not far from downtown New Orleans.

The Bears wanted 2 things that literally every pro team both needs and wants:
1.) Help with infrastructure in regards to roads and public transit to and from. All locations for the Bears need that. Soldier field is a major PITA to get to for most fans.
2.) Long term tax plan. Sure call it what you want, but again the city of Chicago and Illinois is already bending them over they just needed to know how much lube to have and no one could give them that.
Everything else was just icing. They want like most current NFL owners want, a venue that they can host an array of events and not just 10 NFL games on Sundays a year. Which would benefit ALL their fans and the locals.

I doubt it, but you obviously haven't looked at since they remodeled it in '03. They took a classic Greek styled neoclassical structure with massive colonnades and dropped a spaceship looking bowl into it.
...and it still only holds 61,500. ...and they'll never host a superbowl.

So will they be called the Indiana Bears?
Sure, now if the Houston Texans moved there it would need a new name.

Chicago offered a lot to keep them
The offer wasn't realistic from what that article posted in this thread said. The Chicago Mayor offered someone else's money that he doesn't have that clearly won't happen, so no, they didn't offer a lot. Not under a legit offer that could actually be executed.
Could be a big game of poker, but they are going to have to make a legit offer of legit money and actions to keep them in Chicago.

The lakefront used to be decent, but there's very little parking around the stadium and the main public transportation that runs near the stadium is the Rock Island from the south suburbs and Metra electric lines which is all the way over between 18th and 19th.
Halas should have moved them back in 76 when he was threatening to.

Um….have you guys actually spent any time in Hammond, Indiana?
Yes. Which tells you everything you need to know about just how bad Chicago is.
