I've never got into the black crowes. To me they're just like the red hot chili peppers where every single song sounds the exact same. I'm not sure why both bands pop up on classic rock stations/playlists so much. Glad there's another reason to skip songs whenever they come on.

They are probably fortunate, that other than 2 shows in North Carolina, they don't have any other shows in the South, because it would definitely make a dent in ticket sales.

NC Coast is Trump country.

Exactly. I quit in 2017, when the degenerate Kaepernick started his bullshite. If us hated whiteys would quit watching the bullshite it would stop almost immediately. But, no you'll take the gay shite, BLM, and anti-American propaganda shoved down your throat.

Overrated and irrelevant even in their heyday.

So no one but the Robinsons from the first SIX albums?
Meh...the Robinsons were/are the Crowes
Rich Robinson is sort of underappreciated as a guitar player. Twice as Hard is underappreciated as a great song and great guitar playing from him.

I remind my ultra-conservative in-laws of this every Sunday while they’re glued to NFL games. I get the deer in the headlight looks, mostly.

Without Mark Ford or Audley Freed, hard to get excited about them. I love the music, seen them a bunch over the years, grew up with it and went to the MS show last week. CR wasn't an arse like he usually is. Turns out he was saving it for the Florida show. He's sabotaged them every chance hes gotten. Dude with an album called Amorica doesn't like USA.

They're awful live.
Yeah, I saw them a couple of years ago and was pretty disappointed.
Saw the Doobie Bros a week later, and they still sounded good.
I only bring up the Doobies because they are in their 70s and the Robinson bros are in their 50s. I really expected the Black Crowes to put on the better show.

"Oh no, the crowd is having fun during one of my concerts. I better step in and put a stop to that!"
What a fricking idiot.

Toto is fantastic live.
That's because Toto is comprised of some of the best musicians in the world from that era.
I want to say that Steve Lukather alone has been estimated to have played on over 2,000 records as a session player.
Note about the Crowes: Before I started my career as wacktimesthree, I spent nine years as a professional musician in Atlanta. And it was during the 90s when a lot of stuff was happening in Atlanta.
The first thing we did when we rolled into town was hire a guy to master the record our band had just recorded in Los Angeles. Digital editing (Pro Tools) was still very new then and he had just come off of having worked on Siamese Dream (recorded at Triclops Studios in a suburb of Atlanta) digitally tuning some of the strings on the record.
He had also fairly recently assisted or at least worked adjacent to the recording of the Black Crowes first record (which was recorded across four different studios, if I recall correctly, one of those being in Atlanta.)
Anyway, according to him, they couldn't play their instruments well enough to actually make the record (at least to the standards of the record label.). And Pro Tools hadn't come out yet when that record was recorded (not that it would have been advanced enough in its first iteration to quantize out of time guitar playing anyway).
So George Drakoulias would send the band home for the night and wait until they left the parking lot of the studio and then he would stay and re-record what the band had spent all day recording. Without telling them.
I don't know if that's true or not, but that's what he told us. Honestly, to be fair to the Crowes, that wasn't really all that uncommon back then. The label always wanted perfection and a band in a real studio for the first time could rarely deliver it. Before Pro Tools they used to just get studio musicians to play it right. Either that or cut a lot of tape.
But nobody had to fix Toto tracks. They were fixers, not fixees.

Never intended as “southern rock”. They’re just a rock n roll band from Atlanta…. More blues rock like Stones,
Faces,etc.
Faces,etc.

The Black Crowes are a great band. Have seen them several times, and its always been good. Pretty much all of their albums are good. People that are hating on their music are just upset about this incident, or listen to bro country.
That said, Chris Robinson is one of the biggest douches in rock n roll, and has been for a long time.

I recently watched a Toto concert on youtube. Talented keyboards brother. I think only one original remains but they are superb live.

I'll disagree. I saw them years ago in Houston. Went in not really knowing what to expect. Was invited by a friend to the show. Was blown away by how great they were live. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever attended.
