Kinda similar situation here. You said she needs 24/7 care. What's her condition? That kind of care should have a diagnosis. Her doctor should be able to "prescribe" some form of care/assistance through Medicare as part of her condition. If you don't mind the govt seizing all her asset, that should get her into some kind of home. My dad passed recently and he was caretaker for my mom, who has dementia. We were woefully unprepared and are still struggling to work through all the issues, legal control of their assets to maintain her care. My brother, sister and I keep her a week at a time 24/7 for now. We've been able to hire people my dad used for under $25/hr to smooth out the schedule. It sucks and I feel for you bro. Best of luck
I had a us strat with the gilmore loaded pickguard and it was the best sounding guitar I've ever owned. I regret selling it every time I pick up whatever junk I'm playing now
Without Mark Ford or Audley Freed, hard to get excited about them. I love the music, seen them a bunch over the years, grew up with it and went to the MS show last week. CR wasn't an arse like he usually is. Turns out he was saving it for the Florida show. He's sabotaged them every chance hes gotten. Dude with an album called Amorica doesn't like USA.
I guess we'll see. We should both bookmark this and revisit it in 6 months.
Just like Obama's deal but we get the uranium (to see where it came from), aggressive, unannounced inspections, agreement to quit building underground facilities, stop the proxy wars, we destroyed their navy, air force, radar capability, rocket launchers, their supreme leader, most of his family, the regime leadership and the relationship of all of its neighbors. Just like Obama did!

I'm not even sure he was going to kill Henry. The paranoia made everybody a coin toss away from losing everything. Either way Karen was right to walk away. Such a good movie.

When they're sitting in darkness, without desalinization for water, bridges collapsed, battalions isolated, I believe they'll eventually reconsider. When no one is getting paid, goods aren't moving, population starts not giving a shite about consequences from the regime, they'll reconsider. The average Iranian at this point is still going to work, watching tv and dining in cafes. Degrading their quality of life with bombs and blockades will eventually force something to happen. I don't think they're super optimistic at this point

You honestly think we have reached the maximum damage our military can inflict? That any further destruction would be pointless? Please. It has been surgical, for the most part. Tokyo, Dresden, Hamburg, this ain't that. So let's not pretend we shot our shot and failed.
This is controlled pressure, with way more throttle to go. We're looking for the tipping point, the civilian casualty over embedded hardliner cost to benefit ratio. I doubt over half the population is down with suicide for the sake of the guys who just executed thousands.

Trump & Iran

It seems to me that Trump is trying to give the Iranians time to sort out a surrender that doesn't require civilization ending casualties, otherwise they wouldn't have electricity.
It's crazy that people in this world don't care that tens of thousands of regular people will die if he's not patient, which they accuse of him of not being. The left, Europe, the weak right are trying to tempt him into being the thing they insist he is. Same bunch that are disappointed/betrayed he didn't go deep against nuclear-powered Russia.

Are we supposed to pretend that's not what's happening?

Yikes. Y'all think CSAR 25:17 is in the bible? Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR)? He was sharing an anecdote from a soldier about a thing they say. Soldiers referencing pop culture? Madness!

I think I read yesterday that Trump suggested maybe setting up a toll for all Iranian ships from both directions of the strait. That would be funny.
And now they get Katie Porter, who somehow is even less likable and less competent than Newsome. California Dream indeed...
Clapton has had a pretty long career, with completely different phases, that were always able to make the charts. U2 kinda has that same ability

Harsh but fair, I didn't set the search time frame back far enough...

Angine de Poitrine

I searched and didn't find this topic, so apologies if this has been covered...

This band is wild. French Canadian duo, playing microtonal double neck, while dressed as somehow the most French thing I have ever seen. Like Zappa-ish, and Clean tone Primus. I kinda can't stop listening to it...

Is this the same professor that said that the Second Punic war never happened, and that Hannibal and Cannae were made up by Polybius? Because Rome 'needed a reason' for the Third Punic War? Its almost like his real purpose is to denigrate and cause harm to Western culture...
I worked there in the late 90's for a spell. Once, they had miscalculated the pressure for the tanks holding Antifreeze and the valves blew out, dumping 1000's of gallons out, way over the retaining walls. I thought "man, EPA is gonna shut us down." A couple of bosses jumped on backhoes and tilled it all into the ground, parking lot, etc. until all of the green puddles were gone. No agency ever came. We had a yellow jacket infestation for weeks because they were drawn to the substance. Stuff like that happened all of the time. I always figured it was because the company donated tons of money to elected officials and because most everyone had relatives working there that nothing ever happened. Surprised they got away with it for as long as they did.
I remember a made for tv holiday movie from the 80s that starred the Duke boys as quarrelling truck driving brothers on a mission to open a chili factory...to save Christmas
Dude out here doing hate crimes in slip on shoes. Seems more disrespectful somehow...
