I'm probably way closer to your Q beliefs than the vast majority of this Board is.
We ALL know why she was brought in: her looks and her undying devotion to President Trump.

California is releasing VIOLENT criminals onto the streets. If they jailed her for this everyone will know this is all politics.

Hey, we shouldn't mention informal fallacies in a thread with Slippin' Jimmy. You'll teach him something else to accuse people of for the next two weeks after he reads about what it means. He's already shown in this thread that he struggles with the definition of a question anyways.
What? If I have time, I always answer questions and usually document them. So few people are interested in actual, honest discourse it's probably not worth the time.

Do you think they freaking care?

The "holding oneself out as being licensed to practice law" IS a misdemeanor in California, but it calls for a maximum of one year in jail in addition to a $1,000 fine.
"holding oneself out" requires more than just stating you are a lawyer or writing it on your resume.
Even if she intentionally lied about being a lawyer in order to get media spotlight or help with getting media gigs would not be enough to convict her of a misdemeanor for holding herself out as a lawyer. There has to be a specific commercial and/or representation context.
I imagine Fix California will do what it can to protect her. The Chinese stuff, where she worked for the Chinese law firm, seems fine as well.
its just another stupid error by the Administration that does nothing more than detrat from their mission.

I viewed a couple of cases under California law. I think they all ended in some kind of probation.
She would never be jailed. Of course, California's real goal would be to embarrass Trump. It's too bad the White House gave them the opportunity.

If that’s the case, the best thing for her to do would be to do the time like Martha Stewart. It would take some bravery on her part but if the DOJ were to say nab one of Gavin Newsom’s associates they couldn’t say they should get special treatment because Katie did.

Didn't you just create a thread the other day that was all about using SI to have it tell people what it thought of other posters on this board?
AI as an analytical tool using known prompts and sources is useful (not infallible).
I was referring to AI being used to create things out of thin air.

I'm in complete agreement with you. I don't think she actually faces any real criminal liability.
It's too bad the Administration gave the other side a stick with which the press can beat the press secretary from now until the end of her term.
The second wave is going to be LOTS of accusations about the Hatch Act violations with which Zacharia opened her remarks.
I know I have spent too much time on this, but it seems obvious that Zacharia didn't even run her remarks by anyone with more experience in the White House Communications office. "You know, as a federal employee, you can't engage in direct political activity on federal time unless your the President or Vice-president...maybe don't SAY your goal is to do as press secretary what you were doing in your position...as senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group. It's too obviously political."

And yet, you must comment.

I'm trying to make it better at this currently by trying to develop an epistemic engine that understands its own gaps in the creation process. Hopefully it's something we can get it better at.
Anyways, this stuff is about how she represented herself on LinkedIn at the end of the day. I don't think that going after the Press Secretary for what would amount to a first offense misdemeanor is a wise move on California's part while at the same time the DNC is trying to drum up the narrative that Trump is targeting his political opponents with Ilhan Omar. I'm quite sure that if they want to start going tit-for-tat with the executive branch they might find themselves on the short end of the stick.
Which still just brings me back to what I said initially. This is about much more than whether or not she has passed the bar. It's about what she has said in the past and that should be obvious to everyone.

Dunno. It was what BoarEd quoted to Decatur to prove Zacharia is/was an attorney.

It is like watching bad reality tv. There is something amusing about thinking "who can be this fricking stupid while running the U.S. government.
i actually spent time thinking about if it is intentional to be this sloppy and unprepared.

She is a trained attorney. Which is what the damned quote said. The problem is the part Obtuse1 pointed out with that billing of serving as "legal counsel" for Fix California. And again, that title appears to have come from her LinkedIn page. Not from any websites, tax filings, etc.
So they got her trying to fluff her LinkedIn page.

So, I guess anyone connected to Trump gets a free pass or it’s “lawfare”…

Thanks for all that BoarEd. No need for us to keep going back and forth.
I agree with many of your Q positions. In this particular case, however, I think this is just ordinary "embarass Trump" behavior from the left. I think it was an unforced error by the White House Communications Office in not preparing her better...or waiting until she was ready.
They should have had a clear answer for the Bar question because they knew it was coming. Even if the worse case scenario was that she failed a bar exam (no indication of that), that wouldn't have been a big deal.
Cheers
