In other words, Dub is essentially equidistant from both candidates.

Cool, then don't vote like the rest of us that hate both of them.

It is called PANDERING to a certain voter base to attempt to make them think you are something that you really aren't in real life in any way or form just to get votes. Yes, I call that bothersome. Embarrassing actually.
If the nickname were something recent, I would agree with you 100%, but it is not. He has used it since he was a little kid.

My brother’s nickname is “Gallo,” Spanish for “ rooster.” People have called him by that name since he was 11 or 12. He is as White as Beto, though only about a quarter as Irish.

Would he be “pandering” if he were to run for office and use his nickname of forty years?

I hate Cruz more. And I don't hate Beto. I don't agree with him on everything, but Cruz has got to go.

I noticed you've ignored the posts about your term limit grandstanding.

I have some liberal-leaning in-laws in Texas and I believe they are really pulling for this guy (from their FB posts, they won't discuss politics with me).

I didn't respond to them because they are irrelevant to the point I was making.

The Beto campaign is also calling people asking for support. I’ve never heard of that crap.

I had a cute 20-something chick knock on my door about Beto. I told her she was at the wrong house!

If only I had my Cruz sign, LOL.

This was your very first response to the O'Rourke positions you support.

I'm also a big fan of Beto's pledge that if he wins, he will serve no more than 2 terms. He believes in term limits.

Exactly what point are you making when you are asked what you support and this is the first thing you decide to say when Ted Cruz believes (and has actually tried to do something about it) the exact same thing?

AggieDub14,

Don't be so weak and silly. Stop listening to your boyfriend and vote for Cruz.

fricking LOL if you actually believe any promises that come out of Beto (or Ted’s or any a-hole in Congress) mouths re: term limits.

I live in one of blue counties... there are 2 Beto signs on my street placed by young folks who are new to our street. The rest of the street has mostly over 55 and many elderly who don't put up signs for anyone.

Veto folks sent me a text message asking my father to vote... dad passed away 5 years ago.

There will be two votes in my house and they will both be for Ted.

Dumbarse. “Please come inside and tell me about your candidate. May I offer you a glass of wine or a beer?”

I just don't find that to be true. Left of center, yes, but not VERY left wing.

- Promote policies that encourage companies to focus on returning investments back to their consumer, their employees, and to the community.

- Promote regulations that protect consumers, promote competition and grow the economy.

- Support stronger antitrust regulations that break up monopolies and trusts that stifle competition and innovation.

- Empowering the EPA to exercise oversight of those harming the environment, particularly drilling, fracking, and pipeline construction.

- Supporting stronger land-use policies in Texas.

- Healthcare is a moral question that transcends politics – it is a basic human right, not a privilege

- Achieving universal healthcare coverage— whether it be through a single payer system, a dual system, or otherwise – so that we can ensure everyone is able to see a provider when it will do the most good and will deliver healthcare in the most affordable, effective way possible.

- Improving the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by stabilizing our insurance markets. Guaranteeing continued payments for ACA subsidies that reduce enrollees’ cost-sharing and reimbursing insurers for high-cost individuals.

- Allow Texans who commit to working in in-demand fields and in underserved communities the chance to graduate debt free.

- Pass the DREAM Act and ensure that undocumented immigrants who were brought here as children, known as ‘Dreamers’, find a permanent home and citizenship in the U.S.

- Ensure that those who come to our borders seeking refuge from violence and persecution are given a fair opportunity to present their claims and guaranteed due process under our laws.

- Improve the immigration system to encourage and facilitate family reunification, education, and the investment of talent in our country.

- Modernize the visa system to allow U.S. employers to find workers for jobs that American workers can’t fill. (LOF'INGL)

- Reform our immigration laws to legalize the status of millions of immigrants already in our country and ensure a fair path to citizenship for those inspired by the opportunity and ideals that we present to the rest of the world.

- Ensuring that a woman’s right to choose is not compromised by limited access to safe and legal abortion services or family planning help.

- Expanding Medicaid and funding family planning centers in order to prevent another mother dying needlessly due to complications before or after childbirth.

- Supporting policies that guarantee a woman’s access to birth control and emergency contraception.

now i didn't post everything because of course we're both human and care so we're going to agree on some points. there's no democrat i disagree on everything with.

but nobody is going to look at those and see "left of center." that's not even taking into account that he's voted lock and step with Democrats every time. and that's fine, he's a democrat and votes his conscience and i don't fault him for that. but don't try to paint him as a centrist. his entire platform is regulate, tax, and giveaways or what is going the least against the stream in the court of public opinion.

where would anyone put a yard sign in Uptown? The potted ficus on the 5th-floor apartment patio?

There are not ten stand-alone houses in all of uptown.

The Mick has no shot, Cruz is keeping his powder dry until it matters. The lib press in Texas will do all the they can like they did with Barbie but it won't matter, still more hard working men and women in those red countys, 20 or 25 years from now it might be a different story but not yet.
