Isn't this Beto guy some Irishman who is afraid to embrace his heritage, so he's adopted the moniker "Beto!"?

His heritage is STX, the Valley, not Ireland.

So his family stopped in the Valley for a generation or two before moving to El Paso? I did not know that. Where did you see it?

I just thought of how hilarious it would be if this race is tight enough to where Cruz asks Trump for help.

I just assumed the valley meant the entire rio grande valley. Regardless, he’s a border town kid and thats its own world.

Nope. The Valley is just a four or five county area at the very southern tip of the state. It does not extend even halfway to Laredo, much less almost 1000 miles to El Paso.

Dude, if you are going to live in Texas, you need to learn some geography.

This is starting to be a hillary vs trump campaigning/enthusiasm level difference

Hillary was the one with the enthusiasm among her voters, and Trump was going to have a turn out problem, last I checked Trump won.

I recently heard an anecdote about a single donation made to Cruz that was absolutely staggering. The guy has to have a ridiculous war chest.

but don't try to paint him as a centrist. his entire platform is regulate, tax, and giveaways or what is going the least against the stream in the court of public opinion.

The guy you are responding to probably fancies himself a moderate and is trying to rationalize voting for Beta based on a lazy belief in a message carefully crafted for people like him. Beto's record speaks for itself.

Ted needs to get off his arse and hit the campaign trail. All we hear about is Beto in Houston. It’s gonna be a close race. Would be a disaster for future of Texas Republicans .

Could it be that it’s two and half months until the election and putting up signs and making the neighborhood look like shite is asinine, I don’t want to look at political signs for months regardless of the candidate.

Ted Cruz is who needs to get off his arse and campaign harder.

Beto is like Trump in the last week of 2016 campaign and Cruz is like Hillary never visiting Wisconson and ignoring VA and MN. Dude is going to lose his seat if he doesn’t wake the frick up.

Robert Francis O'Rourke sounds pretty Irish to me so, yes, his heritage is Irish.
